I probably wouldn't, but that's because the chazzer is my go-to spot for kids clothes. So it's the profiting concept I object to, as I'd much rather the money went to a good cause.

  • I bought 2nd hand for our kids and for grandkids BUT only if I could see them and usually from charity shops or car boots

    Hi
I am a young mother and looking to start a business. My business idea is an online store that will say second hand but high quality baby clothes from next, m&s, h&m, monsoon etc and some designer clothes.

    I think that's a good point, venison.

I know lots of people do buy clothes from ebay but I'm quite picky about what second hand clothes I buy (my Mum says I have an obsession with 'bobbling') and would want to inspect (and for me, to try on also) anything I buy.

It's a pity the OP didn't come back and update us on whether she's going ahead with this venture.

If I ever did I would make sure to boil wash everything before hand, you can't be too careful

I was going to suggest setting up an eBay store (and I had the same idea once) but postage/paypal fees etc make it quite difficult to make a profit.

if I hadn't have given the items away to friends and family, I'd have been tempted to set up a facebook page and build a following through fb friends, or post in local "buy and sell" facebook groups. I know a few friends have had some success with various items doing this (as long as you don't spam, because then people just get annoyed!).

    Hope this helps.

Probably not as the OP only made 2 posts just before New Year and hasn't logged on since then. :)

No, knowing what happens in babies clothes I personally would not. Sick and the rest of bodily functions that are all day every day I would never trust the bacteria were fully removed. As some others have said, if I needed to economise I would rather choose cheap and new but that's just me. Good luck

Yes. I eat off plates others have eaten from. Sit on toilets other people sit on. I lie on hotel mattresses other people lie on.

The amount of clothes people try on in shops they may as well be second hand.

    Yes I would.
Never again will the wolf get so close to my door
  • I buy second hand clothes, toys etc... I think the problems with some of the shops which try the higher end second hand clothes market is that the clothes are expensive in relation to other shops such as the supemarkets and primark. That being said some people are willing to pay for certain brands second hand such as:
    1. Jojo-Mama and Children
    2. Organics/Frugi/ethically made
    3. Any Scadi inc H and M/Pop/
    4. Olive & moss
    5. Little White Company
    6. Grobag
    7. Petit Bateau
    8. Toby Tiger
    9. Hatley
    10.Panda and the sparrow
    11.Little green radicals
    12. Bob and Blossom
    13. Blade and Rose
    14. Ava and Luc
    15. Cute Graffiti
    16. Chelsea Clothing Co
    17. Rachel Riley
    18. Trotters
    19. Oiloily
    20. Mini Boden

    Good luck.
