What happens when you love all your clothes and they all suit you but you still have far too many? All that clutter used to be money0

How have you reached the definition 'too many' would be the key to the answer, imo. Eg:
1. I have more clothes than I have space to keep them, which causes logistical difficulties and even rows with my nearest and dearest.
2. I have more clothes than some people who know me well and this causes me a degree of embarrassment.
3. I have more clothes than some stranger who runs a blog/ writes about minimalism and thus feel a failure in aspirational terms.
If you have space for clothes which you love, if they fit, they suit your body and your lifestyle and if you use them, it isn't clutter and you don't 'have' to get rid of them.
There will always be some beggar out there with three examples of any clothing category (one on, one off and one in the wash) but there's no obligation on you to follow in their footsteps.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Not been a good month for me savings wise, but better than I thought, I do think I can still reach my target. #132 - I have saved £100, bringing my overall total to £1.900. Have a good July everyone.0

Thanks GQ. I panic a bit when I have too much of anything and I am a neurotic control freak with too much time on my hands? All that clutter used to be money0

As I am particular about the type and colours of clothes that I wear I do tend to grab things that suit me when I see them, hence a number her of items ha gi g in the wardrobe still with the swing tickets on. I often find lately tops are made much longer than suits me so have been on a mission the last couple of days to shorten the tops bya couple of inches -7 done yesterday and 3 today! Who knew I had a new wardrobe hanging in my wardrobe lol. I do need to try some things on to see if they are keepers but if not they will be out the door pronto!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Enjoying reading about everyone's efforts with Kondoing
Managed to KM the whole kitchen including the food cupboard, fridge and freezer. I can't believe how much was thrown out as it was WAY out of date 🙁 On the plus side, shopping this weekend was so much easier as I know exactly what I have and what I needed 😀 Wish I'd done this a long time ago.
I've started to KM the hallway and will move on to the living room tomorrow. Lots of CDs and books going0 -
You are all doing so well, I really must keep up!
I did kondo some chocolates over the weekend, very kind gifts for the end of term, gave 3 boxes to friends and ate one box!
DD gave me a 2 bags of clothes that have been sorted, one bag to the clothing bin at school and the other will go to the charity shop next time I go that way. There are some dresses in there that she has never worn and still have the tags on.
I got a new table and benches a couple of weeks ago, the old ones were in the conservatory (big dumping ground, will be glad when it's knocked down). Anyway I advertised them on Gumtr££ and sold them yesterday!0 -
Good news about your sale on Gtree
. I have a few bits and pieces from the kitchen that I was wondering what to do with. Think I might try Gtree too, see if I can add a few more pennies/pounds to the EF that I'm trying to build up.

I wore a green tanktop underneath a sheer worktop on Friday (for modesty reasons), and found that I was constantly hoiking up (technical term
) the tanktop. It's been washed and is in the 'for Africa' box in the attic now; it will probably fit better on some larger chested lady than me.
I made the rooky mistake of asking dd2 if some dress-up item could go to some other child to enjoy - she has now slept in it for three nights in a rowSo, I'm guessing it sparks her joy and can stay for a bit longer
My parents are staying with us for a week, looking after our dds who already have school holidays. My parents are great for clearing and cleaning, and the house always looks better when they are there. My Mum gets bored just sitting around, and is always knitting or crocheting, or tidying, doing laundry, etc. She's 81My Dad loves his ipad, but will do whatever my Mum asks him to, including hoovering and taking dds for a walk to the local playground. He's 75
This time, they arrived by car (usually the come by train), and brought some camping gear for us to use this summer. If we like it, we will buy our own and return their stuff to them.
At work, I fill up two shredders every day. The paper mountain is growing so fast that I have to do this daily to keep up. Sometimes I or my boss comes in over the weekend, and one or more children come with us; to keep them busy, we set them shredding and drawing on the whiteboardAre you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
enchilada, oh yes, once you start then you don`t stop. Karmacat, I too found the first stages difficult, glasses hold memories and it took a while for me to disassociate myself from the cost of anything when I had to decide if something was to stay or go. I just needed the push that I got on this thread
I am in the wardrobe again, stage two and much easier, took 11 things out the other day and then have filled a large black bag. I have also entered another phase in what is now really my sewing room. Did the de-clutter and tidy, stage two and suddenly the ambience changed to drawing me in, when I actually prefer to be in there. In process of being in there, I am working my way through many many fabric stashes, hence me haunting the sewing thread lately. Its tidy, all boxes are labelled, I have a radio, look out to the front courtyard, and hear the house martins over the way. Its like all sadness has been drained out of that room and it now makes me happy and energises me in a good positive way.
Three weeks ago I needed a small piece of paper for the taxman, it referred to 25 months ago. I found it, straight away, thanks to sorting all my paperwork. If I had not found it, I would have had sleepless nights0
