KonMari 2016 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Wort, hope DH is improving. Worrying time, let alone when it happens abroad and you have to travel back.
Well today I kondo'd DH's tax returnand I kondo'd my tax return
So we have paid our dues and can relax for a while.
I also realised that a nice skirt I have had for ages is too big but could easily be taken in. I snipped into the waistband, pulled the elastic out, pinned it 4 inches in (!), sewed up elastic and cut the excess off. No idea whether this is what you should do but it means i shall get a bit more wear out of it.
Other clothes trying-on revealed the need for a new bra and pants (smaller ones!). Duly ordered.
Have begun latest campaign of kondo-ing weight. Had come to a halt for a while, although was happy to remain stable rather than increasing! Lost 2.5lbs in 10 days so that's the boost I need towards next goal. As i am scheduled to also lose a tooth I feel that I may be eating less for a few days in mid-June anyway!! For the 'well endowed' ladies like myself, I cannot recommend the Shock Absorber enough. There is no bounce at all, rather on the expensive side at around £30 a pop at Go outdoors or Sports Direct. But well worth it.Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

I was going to order another sports bra from M&S because I got a 2-pack a while ago and they are the best fit bras I have ever had! But.....I bet you can guess....they have sold out of the larger sizes

I am so sorry DH was taken ill but glad that you managed to get him back to a hospital here. Hope he is soon on the way to recovery.
Today would have been our 35th anniversary so sil and a couple of dds took me out for the day. We drove to Roseberry Topping and visited some family graves in the local church. I has made some filled rolls and brought some cold bottles of flavoured water and soft drinks.
We also visited an exhibition of the Saxon Princess's burial site dating from 6th century and saw examples of jewellery etc which was fascinating.
I made a massive effort two weeks ago and cleaned and tidied the house from top to bottom and was very pleased with myself.
Since then more building work has been done and the house is a tip again. I am going to start clearing up again tomorrow even if I only get upstairs done."This site is addictive!"

Thank you all for your kind thoughts, this is my favourite thread as everyone is so wonderful.
Hubby has had many scans and is waiting for 2nd lumbar puncture, and biopsies. But looks better as he's now properly hydrated, (he wasn't eating or drinking).
P and @ were great arranging flights etc. Thankfully we got back before he needed to go to hospital in Albania!
Mmf007 well done on weight loss and taking in skirt, my efforts always end badly.
I changed all bedding last night and most dried overnight in house as it was so warm, have more to do but looking miserable here, light misty rain let's hope it clears ,though the garden is in need of it .Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
I'm not following the true KM method (I'm moving house in a few weeks so don't have time atm), but each round of clearing out I'm doing, I'm getting more and more ruthless. Not something I'd thought possible as an armed forces wife with many, many house moves under my belt. I thought I'd previously got it down to a fine art, but obviously not.Illegitimi non carborundum.0

wort - hope things are getting better - but HUGS anyway.
As I hoped the pinks were lovely until the rain bashed them down!
Bit more stuff moved out, via CS and other - gently goes.
Been doing more in the garden lately so not a much in the house.
Take care. H.0 -
Afternoon all.
Haven't been kondo-ing as such (well, does eating buns count?) but we have been out and visiting my maternal grandparents' grave which was given a wash and brush-up and some flowers.
Pretty village churchyard. I did admiringly note the wheeze of placing a few small signs among the uncut grass and weeds saying Wildlife Area and thought that this could easily be transferred to the domestic sphere.
We got talking the the present owner of the orginal family cottage, the one we left in 1968 and he invited us in and Kid Bruv and I saw the very bedroom where we opened our eyes to this world.
Fascinating. Pretty interesting got him, as he's owned the place for less than a year and we were able to tell him a few things he didn't know about its history.
Then we went on to a nature reserve and had a picnic and a mooch around before coming back home.
Pretty tired now but have plans to wash Christmas Roses rug tomorrow as Abstract is still drying today. Very little is being kondo'ds this trip but even GQs need some downtime.
Hope everyone is having a good day and that Mr Wort is a bit more comfortable.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

So, bank holiday and half term are upon us and i have just written my 'to do' list and think I need a rest already! We have so many part done jobs on the go that unfortunately need money for things to finish them off so are getting done as and when.
I think the first thing to spend some time and cash on is getting the allotment going. I think this is more of an investment as things grow my food bill should reduce so this can be ploughed into other things?!
Tidying mixed with KD is also on the agenda so expect updates in my breaks!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Looking forward to your updates, tibawo.
Am easing into the day as have been told I can't wash the CR rug as we had a huge amount of thundery rain overnight and the weather forecast for today is iffy (well, a bit more professionally-phrased than 'iffy' but that's the gist). I intend to have muy second pot of tea, get Mum to cut the back of my hair and then apply Advanced Wheedling to being allowed to wash KR.
I'm only here until tea-time then will be heading back to RL in the city and off to work again. If I can't wash CR, I may head up into the loft on some pretext or another such as running inventory.....
You can't keep a good kondo-ista down.:pEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
