I had to look it up too Slinky! Apparently I have a pembroke table, I bought mine from a guy that refurbished it and he'd chalk paint the leg and oiled the top. I needed drop leaf as we don't have much room in kitchen diner, but it opens up to seat 6.
British heart foundation came for my 4 charity bags today, whilst I was out at lunch with 2 friends I used to work with, we meet 4 times a year and have a catch up.
Have read the feng shui book, it was very similar to mk principles, and very easy to read not too much airy fairy stuff.
It's brightened up here now and the kitten has gone out to chase flies in the garden, just hope he leaves the bees alone!:D

:) Awww, a kitten, how lovely.

I've been busy today and am cream-crackered but am going to try to push on through the WIP blanket. I'm at the sewing-up stage and, if I can get it (or most of it) done by Saturday night, it can travel back to the hometown in the parental car on Sunday, instead of coming with me on the bus next Thursday. Here's hoping. ;)

Also had a thought about the ladle. One of the kitchen utensils cleaned out from Nan's bungalow was a Pr3steige stainless steel ladle. Mum refused to allow it to be given away last autumn, 'because'. Now, what you need to understand is that Mum already has a set of these stainless steel utensils of her own, including a ladle. A ladle which she uses about once a decade - it lives in a remote drawer, it is so unneeded.

Bearing in mind that these utenstils are 100% stainless steel, pressed from a single piece of metal, with nothing to go wrong and will probably survive us all, why would she need a spare one? But last autumn this was a non-negotiable and this spring, she just said casually it could go booting.

:o Then I had a bit of a moment. I have a thing for stainless steel pans but also have a loathing for the noise of metal-on-metal so all my utensils except one are wooden spoons or nylon-ended including my ladle. Which I barely ever use but still have sitting in the pot beside the stove.

I thought I should take the opportunity to swop my nylon ladle for the steel ladle, as I have a pr3stige slotted spoon (my only steel utensil, 50p chazzer) and then I realised having a more robust example of a utensil I don't use anyway is just plain daft. My own ladle is going carbooting, too.:rotfl:

Crazy how reflexively I nearly jumped on that item, hey?

3 large bags to clothes weigh in centre - got £5.50 which is £5.50 more than i had before :) 2 lots of things waiting for fr**gle collection......they had better show up. People beginning to take the p!ss I feel now - people wanting to do 100 mile round trips for a mop bucket..........err I dont think so....defeats the principles I feel:mad: I am making a list of serial requesters/no shows.

Intend to make serious inroads into the Eb*Y pile - lots of sales recently so I am inspired. I have donated lots to CS in past 12 months but my preferred shop has a had a few changes in management and they are really not consistent at the moment with the GA side of things - have noticed a few of my items not having the GA label on:( Their loss I guess but also mine as my nectar card is linked so I get points if my items sell..........so I will give Eb*y a bit more effort :)

Kitten is 9 months now but still thinks he can curl up on my chest !!! Cue mouthful of cat fur! He's been a great addition, I blame Mavvy with all her talk of kittens. He's very affectionate cat with a very loud purr. Definitely joy inducing.

:) Aww, cute. One of my neighbours (don't kwow which flat) has a lovely jet-black kitten-cat about the same age which keeps trying to throw itself across my threshold. I won't let it in as I know what cats are like for taking advantage, but it is a lovely little creature.

Just back from a pal's, got invited to go YS-stickering (the fruits of which are in t'oven) and now I really have run out of energy. I shall eat my haddock mornay and watch a DVD, which can then be donated.

Shucks, I missed out on the table. Out bid by a fiver!
Oh well, it gives me time to re-introduce the idea to DH :D

Small bag of clothing and sandals to CS today (had been in the car boot awaiting delivery when in town). Jumper returned to shop for refund because it did not spark joy, having a silly design for a larger busted lady :rotfl:

I was planning to defrost and tidy the freezer tomorrow but the weather forecast is sunny so the outdoors wins!
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

slowly slowly things are moving out! :0)
Every time I open a cupboard, drawer, box etc, if it doesn't spark joy, then it goes in a CS box.
I had a lot of things on Eb*y but although some sold, by the time I've packed it up ( in recycled packaging ) and been to post office, and then Eb*y take their share, it isn't always really worth it, and I think I shall return to just taking it all to the CS!

I've also tried local selling pages, and Freegle, but not much luck there either!

I have a formica drop leaf table which is beautiful but sadly neglected as there is no where in the house that it will fit when opened out.

But I don't intend to get rid of it as I love it.

My only choice for now is to use it as a console table, but where?

:) Could it stand behind or beside a sofa, Frogletina? Something which serves as a sort-of shelf behind a sofa is surprisingly handy.

Well, DVD was a bit of a disappointment, glad I only spent 50p on it. Have put that in the 'out' pile. Also cracked on with the WIP blanket assembly. I shall aim to do some more today and then three-quarters of it will be assembled, that can leave tomorrow, I can assemble the other quarter at home and bring that over on the bus.

:o:p I'm due at the very-reasonably-priced-antiquish emporium this morning. Who knows what weird and/ or wonderful things may come to light among the swords, marble busts and general misc? I love poking around there, the clutter is vastly superior to the tatt at home...... if it's funny, I'll tell youse lot later - did I mention I'll be back in the family home over Easter - woo! :rotfl:
