Just Kondoed some veg from the bottom of the fridge into a fabulous soup. Have always wondered what these things taste like when people say they use up random veg this way.
Mine was some butternut squash, a carrot, a tomato, some brocolli, an onion, added in some lazy garlic, lazy ginger, a vege stock pot, some nutmeg and double cream.
Yummy and a good amount left over for lunch tomorrow.Make £2025 in 2025

Feels like a lot was achieved this afternoon we have dentist check ups, then I'm going to knit and Dh is going to practice his saxophone.SPC~12 ot 124

I feel so happy with my morning, it helped that the sun was blazing and I could work in the back garden, without a jacket. I haven`t kondo`ed much but even stuff on the compost helps. I am trying so hard to reduce the contents of my freezer but it is oh so slow, just frozen blackcurrants and apple and frozen crumble today but am looking forward to making a soup tomorrow, frozen green beans, frozen broad beans and fridge bottoms. I swear next year, I will leave room for hm ready meals and have already drastically pruned the blackcurrant bushes, hoping for less fruit. Still I am feeling uplifted. knowing that this nibble at a time is paying real dividends0

Kittie: do you have a local charity that you support that has table-top sales? Many charities sell homemade cakes, muffins, pies, chutneys, jams etc at sales and fetes. They might be a good way of getting rid of your glut. Even if you don't bake yourself, you could give the fruit to someone who would bake for the charity for you.
I always hunt out the homemade chutneys at fetes; so much nicer than shop bought, and supports the charity.0 -

I still have many, many books because they absolutely spark joy and I know I'll reread them one day- they have a long 'shelf life'. Others on this thread have proudly recounted that they hardly have any books in the house.
Most of the books I read are downloaded to my kindle. The physical books are have are more of a collection and the special ones I want to keep. My Michael Chricton collection, my Redwall collection, classics & favourites like Watership Down, Anne Rice, Lord of the Rings etc.
So it is time to tackle 'Paper' there won't be a big change.
I've already thrown a load of old magazines out. I may possibly sell some comics, but the majority will stay as it is.
My ex once said 'once you've read it why don't you get rid of it?'
I was horrified. What if I want to read it again!?

Sorry I have to say I can't read a book twice or watch a film again, so all books leave to be read by family members then passed on.
I tidied the garage on Saturday, used an old pallet to store my garden tools. And put some hooks up for garden coats and hubby's saws. Sorted the beer stash that was left from christmas and got rid of lots of old /used up bits.
Great blowy day today so got all bedding washed and dried.
Back at work tomorrow, at least I'm leaving the house clean and tidy Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -
Wort - I'm like you in that I rarely read a book twice or watch a film again. I have a lovely bookcase stuffed with all of DH's books that he reads, re-reads and re- re- reads ad infinitum! Drives me mad!
Not much gone out today other than junk mail but I have managed to take photos of some large items in the garage for fleabay so just need to do the blurb & hopefully they will move in the next week or two.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
The biscuit tin is in the garage waiting for the tip run, all I have left now are five keys without a lock.
A colleague has told me she has handed in her notice without a new job lined up; she had just had enough. I feel the same sometimes. My job is not bad, it is with a decent company, decent pay, and I have a lovely boss and nice colleagues, but it is not the job I trained for. And I feel I am complaining without a reason.... Morning all.
I have relatively few books although I am an avid reader and always have been. Just counted them all and there are 63 dotted around my sitting-room.
One is going back to the library in a couple of days, the rest are mine. Some are keepers (reference, or just dearly beloved), the remaining comprise of books I've read and which are temporarily stalled on their way out, and books awaiting my attention and which will leave once read. If I think a relation or a friend would enjoy a book, I would offer it to them first once I've finished with it.
If space constraints in my flat weren't so incredibly tight, I might be keep a few more, but even having 63 around means that some of them are piled up on the sofa back and the floor, there is so little space. My leisure reading is often whodunnits, and the lustre is off the book once you know who did it.:rotfl:
If I want a fix of one of my faves, like Pratchett, I just toddle up to the library where they have thousands of them, thank goodness.
I've been thinking about a few items of clothing which aren't really used and which don't have homes to live in and are thus floating around getting underfoot and annoying me. I struggle with the useful as a category. Random tatt, knick-knacks etc just annoy me, so no problems shifting those, but useful stuff? Ahh, that's a whole can of worms.
I have a sweater in-progress at the family home, so will be welcoming that into my life in the next few weeks, and I want to have space to keep it. I'm thinking as I'm writing and two fleeces which I barely use, but which are in lovely condition and pretty colours, can go out. I'm sure there's someone out there who'd like them.
Hope everyone has a great day. GQ xEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Just reporting in! Have been reading along but being on holiday (3 weeks staying with friends in the Caribbean
) means i have done little kondo-ing.
I did leave behind 2 worn out tops, a large beach bag that needs some repairs - offered to the lady who cleans for our friend and has a sewing machine to mend it and will use it for shopping.
I also left 2 sandwich boxes that had the remains of a bag of museli in, again given away. I may replace these, see how I get on without them as i have others at home.
Need to kondo the 4.5 lbs I have put on since xmas (not bad, given that I ate carbs on holiday, although not a huge amt was consumed). Aim to lose another 2 stone by the end of summer.
Today's joyful thing, I hope, is my new art class. Having been fired up on holiday I have booked a series of 10 classes. I have only had time to acquire very basic paints and painting pad, so today will be just about meeting people and having a bash. I shall buy a couple of essentials this weekend and re-do the lesson on my own later! Oh, the benefit of being middle aged, not worrying what people think if you make a fool of yourself :rotfl::rotfl:
Thanks Everyone for your interesting and thought-provoking posts.I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0
