KonMari 2016 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

:.......It's because decimalisation meant 12 old pennies was 5 new pence and it simply was too petty to change them at the bank so many, probably most, households kept the burgers. And still they emerge.......
Goodness, my grannies were intent on searching out every coin that they could in the run up to the change - shops grumbled that people were paying in small coins!
There was a fad for collecting pre-decimal coins in year order, and special booklets with die cut slots could be purchased to house the collection. My mother got quite into collecting 6d coins..... I must ask if she still has them

GQ Reckitt Benkeiser shares are always a good buy, if affordable
tibawo what do they have in smoothies? Raspberry canes are very productive and cheap to buy, also strawberry plants. Potatoes are good to break up the soil for a new-to-you plot, and good old salad stuff is easy to grow. Also consider outdoor cucumbers, French beans and kale as easy starter veg to get you through the summer.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hope you feel better soon GQ, but if you get any chest pain do see a GP to be on the safe side. A lot of folk get pneumonia and are simply too busy to notice (probably teaching my [younger-than-me] granny to suck eggs there though!).0

Will do if it comes to that, hun, and thanks for the good wishes. I've had a jab against pneumonia a handful of years ago, dunno if that would make a difference?
This particular grotty cough has been circuling around my office and laying low even the twenty-somethings with no pre-existing medical conditions, so not surprising it caught up with me.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Thanks short bird and floss for the ideas.
We have just been for a walk past the allotment. The girls were discussing the merits of a trampoline in it as one of the larger ones had one in. I am all for raspberries and we do have strawberries in the tubs in the yard. i thought this year was a really bad crop until i found out that as the girls were doing the recycling that had been happily munching them!
I am not sure a curtain would work on the unit but will at some point post a picture on here.Don’t put it down - put it away!

Five weeks which co-incided with me getting my very derelict allotment and being very windy and squally.
I know what to suggest for being 'windy' but not sure of the remedy for being 'squally':rotfl::rotfl: Hope you shake off the chest infection soon:)
Decimalization: all I can remember is 'thre'penny' bits my great grandmother use to bring when visiting to put in my piggy bank, sixpence from the tooth fairy and taking half a crown ( that is 12.5 pence) on Monday to school for school dinners and tuck shop for the week and a deposit into the school bank!! My brother ( 8 years younger than me) once dug up a thre'penny bit from the garden and was convinced he had found a Roman coin:rotfl::rotfl:
Books off shelves still piled in LR but they dont half look in the way now LR is kept free of clutter so will be dealt with TONIGHT!!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Well, that's another pile of books and CD's for rehoming via We Buy Books, the local record store and the charity shop... Only 25 but it makes a difference.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Anyway, meanwhile back in the real world I have a question for you all... I have a pine storage unit and have got four plastic tubs that fit perfectly. However being the fussy person i am I want he tubs to match the d!cor and have some spare material that i could put them on. Does anyone know the best way to do this... do i do it decoupage style or as a solid block cover. I like both ideas but can't work out which will stick on the plastic better and what glue to use?
Please experiment first but there is a craft product called Mod Podge that I think might work with material and plastic. Cut material to size and using the ModPodge to stick it to the plastic. When dry, and it may take a while, give the material 1 or 2 coats to cover. When dry should be rock hard. All that clutter used to be money0 -
GQ - maybe your pal could sell the old pennies and half-pennies as floor tiles? http://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/blog/diy-copper-penny-floor0

We're collecting old and current coins and bank notes of any denomination from any country for a local charity however they are rather heavy to post!
Not been actively kondoing for a while now however still getting rid of things as I come across them. Also working through food cupboards to use up ood things. Plan to get cracking with the office this week as had yet another deskslide yesterday and the stuff is still on the floor on the opposite side of the room from a previous deskslide which is also still on the floor. Room is not very big so it's all in the way.
LR, bedroom and bathroom all looking good still - the clutter has not re-accumulated so can't wait for kitchen and office to be the same way.
GQ, get better very soon.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0
