LOL! I read this thread, then find myself perusing the house looking to see what I can kondo !!!!

a box of papers I took off the top of the printer about a month ago, and are still sitting untouched in the corner - obviously don't need them! and some old curtains I found behind the dining room door - DH wanted to put them up ( ??? !! WHAT! I know they would fit better than the ones we currently have up, but they at least 'go' in the room, and when we decorate, the old curtains ARE NOT GOING UP ) ... I think his friend 'Justin' wants them!

Have spent the afternoon working through my office clothes. I'm about to change jobs, and while the dress-code will still be business-wear, I'm no longer going to be part of an NHS executive office, so can part with most of my dress/jacket combos'. There were some put to one end due to having shrunk (:o :p) so they've ben thanked, folded & put in the CS pile too. I sorted out my cardigans too, and pulled out couple to donate & all my 3/4 sleeve summer ones, along with my linen dresses, to be washed & put away for winter.

I really need to do my other wardrobe, which has smart & everyday stuff in it,but I could do with DH being out while I get everything out onto the bed!

:o:p Oooh, look what I found!

Not sure I should share this, but in case Justin has left any unused calendars or diaries from previous years at your place:

:D Not really expecting to be around in 2044 and if I am I don't suppose I'll care what the date is! Thanks though :D

Just seen your post Floss - hope you enjoy your new job!

:p I may be alive in 2044 but will be very old and probably not thanking my younger self for saving a few pennies by stashing a really old calendar.

Anyroad, I wait until early Feb each year and buy one of those large and luscious art calendars reduced from about £7.99 to 50p-75p. This year it's Mucha, next year, who knows? I thoroughly enjoy my temporary art gallery and then enjoy letting them go to be recycled.

Have just finished a book I got last week and have added to the donation bag, will be itemised on Minsgame in due course. Am already casting my eyes around for things to list in coming days. The floor is sloooowly re-appearing after the chaos I dumped on it on Monday evening when I returned from the parental homestead.

  • Thanks to whoever suggested playing Mins Game with the digital photos - 60 gone already, yes I know that's more than I needed to do (even working in reverse) but I'm on a roll. Why have I kept so many fuzzy photos, multiple shots of the same thing and random pictures of the garden? I'm determined to get rid of at least ten percent.

  • Finally sat down and had a catch up on your Kondo adventures. The allotment and garden show tomorrow so I've been baking. Didn't lick a single spoon, eat flapjack crumbs or the 7 jam tarts that the jam bubbled over on! Don't think I could cope with bake off though. Wasn't tempted as I've been sugar free since Monday and Kondoed 6lb:j Never entered anything before so will let you know how I get on.
Like VJs mum as a teacher I'm now back at work. The skip was filled on Thursday. I did my best to siphon paper and card into the recycling bin but lots got past me. anytime anyone hesitated I said "does it spark joy?"
    I'm up for Mins game:
Day 1: 3 glass fish CS
Day 2: DS waterproof (too small) to CS, jar of homemade strawberry jam made in 2008 (didn't look a good colour having been stored in garage cupboard). Jam in bin and jar in recycling bin. Thank you for giving me the experience of jam making 8 years ago:D

DD still been clearing out her room - more items to Op CC bag and 1 to CS. Also little bits to bin/ recycling. Would have been more but she got called into work unexpectedly. I priced up a boxful of items for NNS ready for them to (hopefully) leave for good :) That's about it for today

:) MinsGame Day 3; a siphon-type bottle of handwash (gift, not something I'd buy myself) now used up and bottle recycled. A paperback finished yesterday into donation bag. A 4-pint bottle filled with crushed eggshells, from cupboard under the sink going to be sprinkled on the lottie soil. Bottle will then be recycled.

I was thinking about going to my friend's [STRIKE]junk shop [/STRIKE] err antiques emporium for a couple of hours this morning but have changed my mind and had a lie in (til 7.30 am!) and am easing into a gardenish-errandish type of day.

Doing a little work on my rug WIP which has been shamefully-neglected in the past fortnight. In my defense, m'lud, I have had some brilliant thrillers set in Elizabethan England, and have been quietly engrossed in the activities of Lord Walsingham's intelligenciers and dastardly plotting against the Queen. Gripping stuff.

:T Well done Charly27, that's a fabulous weightloss in only 6 days. Shows you what a difference sugar makes, hey?

I've now reached the half-way point of my intended weightloss, 2.5 stone down and 2.5 to go, and six months gone today. I could have lost more as I haven't been incredibly strict and naughty things have been known to pass my lips, several times a day esp when visiting the family.

You all have encouraged me to find something everyday to go out the door. Not sure I could manage the mins game but will have a bash!
Day 1 - very large pump bottle half full of hair conditioner now decanted into a smaller bottle and large one recycled.
Day 2 - 0 :( - in my defence I was out all day with a friend so will make up today - promise!!!

:) I decant products, too, silvasava. For two consecutive years, a dear lady has given me lovely bath products but in glass bottles. I can be clumsy at times and drop things, so the glass in the bathroom made me nervous.

So, I decanted the lovely jollop into a very plain squeezy plastic bottle, so I could enloy using it without stressing about dropping it.

Am presently starting the first of half-a-dozen mini tubes of hand cream and body lotion, which I was given. Was tempted to hold onto them for future (light-weight) travel but rationalised that I haven't got any future travel pencilled-in and that they'd probably die in storage. So, instead of buying another tube of handcream to replace the one finished a couple of days back, I shall use all these first. Should see me sorted for a couple of months, I reckon.

Dunno what it is about toiletries but every single woman I know (even myself) plus a fair few men, seems to have unused toiletries quietly expiring in their bathrooms, shower stalls and cupboards. This must be one of the commonest categories of wastefulness. Yet, of those ladies I know well enough to visit their bathrooms, none of them are wasteful in other aspects of their lives. Most puzzling.
