Mav you heart is so very big. Look at the wonderful life you have given the kitties. You have two who won't have to have litter after litter. They are all cared for and although feral they have a home. You have given your time and money to help little creatures have such a better life.
It's people like you who inspire those around you. My SIL does the same thing and has given countless feral kitties a substantially better life as have you. Mavvy not many people look past themselves like that. You are a treasure. You are now seeing another avenue to be of service in and because you have a hugh heart, people will be blessed. Your support of this woman's service to others with be an enormous blessing to her personally. Very very inspiring!
Hoping you have gorgeous weather for a big turnout for the fete and that it makes lots and lots of ££££! Having it so organized will help people be able to find their sizes. I personally would love to walk into such a fete.

:T Hear, hear, mila, mavvy is an absolute treasure and shouldn't feel that she isn't doing enough for her fellow humans and her fellow kitties.

I'm busy living my life but have come to a decision about a coat I bought for an absolute song (only 50p!) a couple of winters ago. It's stylish but it's relatively heavy, especially in terms of warmth, and I keep passing it over to wear other things. In fact, I didn't wear it at all last winter. :o

I've decided, despite it being very nice, it's really not earning its keep on my 3 ft clothes rail and must go. I will hold onto it until the cooler weather, out of consideration for the charity shop, so that it can go out in the appropriate season, but I am pleased to have firmed up on a decision which I have been dithering about for some time.

When I went to visit the family last weekend, I gave my online bookseller brother two large books, which are now out there on the web, and have pulled a third, equally large, book off the shelf to finally read and then rehome. I read a lot but the flat is titchy and the books quickly get out of hand.

I also had to pull some of the new undies from their packs and into service as I had worn out and ragged some of the so-so ones. It's so easy with clothes like this, which work hard and are constantly in and out of the laundry, to have excess inventory, most of which are partly worn out. By limiting the amount I was using, I used them up and now they're out of here.

I keep reading blogs on mimimalism for inspiration and am heartened by how many people find reducing and simplyfying their clothes choices to be a major saver of time and trouble.

  • Ooh any blog recommendations, GQ?

I agree with everyone else, Mavvymoo you are an inspiration and already do so much.

I feel I could do better on clothes, but I do think it's one of the most rewarding areas to have Kondoed. That and paperwork. If I'm honest, a lot of the other stuff I evicted was stuff I never used/looked at anyway so it hasn't had such a big impact - the difference is that by getting rid of it, I made space in cupboards and drawers and so everything has a home now.

    Morning all.
Thanks everyone I feel tearful now. But I promise you I am no saint just want to put a bit back really.:)
Its just sad in this day and age people are struggling to clothe and feed their kids :D

But as I have very good buying skills ;) and can spot a bargain from a million miles away. :rotfl:I have just picked up a massive box of lovely Childrens books for the grand sum of £2 :) Which I will pass on to the lady to treat the kids her (customers) have. :D

I think I just got off at a remote request stop on the train and need to wander around a bit and then get back on the train :D So I am going to spend the weekend here and then board the train on Monday I am sure the driver will stop for me ;) and stay on board until the next time I need to get off ;)

The cats are all fine eating me out of house and home I am sure Lola has given up hunting (maybe she has also got off the train for a while just to have a rest) The kits are growing and are more daring each day. Lolly is now free and can do what she likes but as of yet I have never seen her out of the woodshed :o So she just needs to get a bit more courage I am sure she will soon :D

Onwards and upwards thanks for the postive thoughts on the fete I so want it to be a good day :) But I cant bl**dy wait until its over !

Mavvy you are lovely and no one could say you don't do more than your bit.
Hugs all round as sometimes we all need one.
Got to go Drs this morning (I'm sure it's nothing but chemist in Norfolk told me to go once I was home) so will drop bag of coat hangers off at tesco recycling.
Ds2 is still busy with his Ncs they've done loads of different fundraising events all week and I've shamelessly been plugging their just giving page in Twitter they supported the Red Cross so a worthy cause.

Need to get back up into the attic in the next week as I've promised the bathroom fitter the area over the bathroom will be clear so he can access the water tank and light electrics.

    Have a joyful day all.

The bit I bolded is really, really important to me :T

I only learned about it late last year, on this thread, and before then I was conscientiously using *every* thing I had, in turns - but why?! Crazy stuff - and once I'm retired, and have the use of my counselling room back, I'm going to do another sort out and actually put stuff away that I don't need to use.

The other thing I've realised is about hand towels - often, the towel I'm using as a handtowel is a small bathtowel - quite a few of my towels need to be put away so I can use a few of them to destruction :D I have enough hand towels to use as handtowels!

I think I have enough towels to use until infinity. We raised six children and even though we sent some towels with them as they left, I still have lots left. It's something I doubt I'll will ever have to buy again.
They don't match...so what! I could care less. I have four nice towels in the guest bath that one of the kids bought us as a present. I'm set for life.
When one begins to fray I crochet around the edges. I have wash clothes like that and once you crochet the edges they seem to last forever. Some are 25 yrs old or older.

I tend to refresh towels by dyeing them, I have some faded maroon towels that are about to be turned purple :D

Funny that towels should come up today on here. I was working with a client this morning who has masses of towels in a huge airing cupboard. She proudly announced that she has bought some lovely....er.... towels in the JL sale.
Oh, says I, shall we take a look to see if any old ones can go to the CS? She poked her head into the airing cupboard, and working her way through all said items had [STRIKE]an excuse[/STRIKE] a reason to keep all of them. Doh.

Still, I kondo folded a lot of jumpers and tops for her into the colour co-ordinated drawers I sorted out a few months ago. I still get a buzz everytime I open those drawers, they look SO good! :T

right, off to put chicken in oven for yummy low carb dinner, with green beans and some saag aloo
(DH gets the potatoes slung on his plate :D).

    Have a lovely evening All,
