:D Very little phases my Dad. And I don't think we could find enough Tories in this very working-class town to fill a pit with them.

But hey, I could re-open the soakaway in the back garden which was dug out when their extension was built as I've always thought it was a bottle-dungeon in the making and wasted on rainwater run off.

If there is space, you can put my ex in there too... I don't want to clog up the sewage system.

And I can send PLENTY of Tories from round here. So he needs to behave himself. I have an endless supply...

I must admit, that my first thought when seeing the soakaway (prior to it being filled with stones) was what a perfect place to dispose of a body.

It's about 6-7 ft deep and about 3 ft across and is now under the lawn. But I know exactly where because I was the muggins [STRIKE]supervising [/STRIKE] err, making tea for their builders.

I bethought myself this evening that no one is ever a heroine in her family home and that I get teased summat rotten. OK, we're a family of leg-pullers with a whimsical sense of humour, and they have fed me well on fresh salmon and broccoli tonight.

Hokay, have now excavated the bed in the back bedroom, picked the pine needles off the bedcover (Wild Thing brings them in hung up on her shaggy fur) and have checked all crannies of the room for things with 8 legs and found no signs of any. Hoping the gammy leg will keep the big spider downstairs in the kitchen.

Will be back late tomorrow afternoon/ evening with more news from the madhouse. Have a good night, one and all. GQ xz

Haha could be worse it could have fashioned a crutch out of the luminous paperclip!

Back from 2 weeks in mexican sun yesterday to 10 degrees and drizzle.
Full day at work today, found out we are getting pay rise as of next year but are having our pension frozen! And need to start paying in to the new style ones.

After tea decided to release the garden furniture from the tarpaulin it's being hibernating in since last autumn. Dh cut the lawn and I had a tidy , I'm sure someone puts miracle grow on the garden when we are on holiday. Everything is twice the size as before we left, and the weeds I cleared are back 10 fold. Came in at 9 PM !
Tomorrow dh is taking dgson out so I'm hoping to spend the day in the garden clearing the weeds, as the forcast is good.
    Happy kondoing everyone :T

Sounds like you have your work cut out GQ!

Builders have left. A couple of things not done (must make a list), and the landing and stairs need another couple of coats of varnish. But they'll be back next week at some point to do the odds and ends and take the rest of their stuff (not do the varnish as there will be too many people here).

It looks fabulous. But there is a lot of dust and mess and furniture to rearrange. I haven't got the energy to deal with any of it tonight, but have three days to sort out the house and garden before my visitors arrive.

Most importantly, heating is back on. Which is BLISS! (I now have to run it flat out for 4 days to get the air out... so anyone in Hampshire should expect a heatwave over the bank holiday!)

I must have missed what exactly you're having done when I went AWOL. :o
Please could you give me a brief summary because it seems like major works!
    Thanks x

    Morning All!

I posted about 10 days ago to say that my house had just gone on the market - it has sold already STC! The estate agent said it was beautifully presented, and one of my friends commented that it looked like a hotel on the virtual tour!!! Thanks Marie Kondo & Flylady & fellow Kondo-ites for the inspiration & encouragement.

Now I need to start looking for a property closer to my family - so far I've only been browsing on Rightmove and Zoopla to see what's available. My mortgage was Kondo'd three years ago so I I'll be a cash buyer😊

    Onwards and upwards!

Congratulations to you Sweetpea!!! Such exciting news. What excellent reviews by those who know.
New doors about to open for you. And how smart you are to have your home all paid for, so that you can be a cash buyer. You sold it so fast you must have gotten close to your asking price. What a wonderful example to us all.

    Thanks Milasavesmoney

The mortgage paid off and no debts are all thanks sensible advice from Martin and people on other forums here, in years gone by. I've always been a saver, and the lightbulb moment was when I realised how little interest I was getting compared with what I was paying out!!! Also, I'm retired, so would find it hard going to pay rent or a mortgage at this stage of my life!

Must get on the move - I need to pop into Aldi for a few bits.
