Car Insurance quotes

Following MSE recommendations for car insurance quotes, I have been amazed at the number of companies that, with further investigation, are using Sabre Insurance for their quotes. This includes at least 2 banks, and surprisingly Legal & General. Apart from the fact that the premiums differ, even using the same comparison sites, is it not possible to indicate which companies are actually insuring the vehicle themselves?

I had a quick look on the Sabre Insurance website - never heard of them.
Are they not a valid insurance company? I'm about to renew my car insurance so looking at quotes but just wondering what your concern is with Sabre?
