  • I definitely dont look my age.
I dont put a single thing on my skin, Just water for washing.
But I drink lots of water every day. I eat a good diet with no carbs and have never suffered from acne.

Any creams are full of unnatural products that really shouldnt be rubbed into skin at all.

Last comment proves it's all about the genes and lifestyle. Personally I've never spent a lot of money on creams and these days I prefer natural products.

My mum always looked 10 years younger, I got tired of my friends not believing me when I told them her real age! But sadly I haven't inherited that :(
  • I think I have a pot of Boots No7 somewhere...

It's not all about the cream. Stop looking for a miracle. You don't actually say what's wrong with your skin. Is it break outs? Wrinkles? General dullness?

To avoid breakouts, keep it clean and don't eat rubbish.
To avoid wrinkles, don't get old.
To generally improve things drink plenty of water, don't spend too much time in the sun, don't smoke, and smile more.

Face cream is one of the most use able product in daily life. Face cream is used in cosmetic industry. It very popular makeup product, Because it packaged very well. The packaging of face cream is more elegant and attractive look in packaging.

...and there is a reason that newbies cannot post links.
  • I think natural products work best. I use shea butter and it works for me
  • Hi. Many thanks for this thread. Some very useful stories here. I am using "simple" moisturiser and I have to say it is rubbish. My skin does not feel moisturised after it. When I was in Spain earlier this year, the Mercadona Supermaket had a great range of own brand ones (possibly Deliplus) for about 4 EURO and they were actually very good. I try to buy moisturiser from abroad now as I feel you get more for less.

I'm spanish and I use several things from Mercadona. Not all work for me but some of them are really good and very good value for money!
  • I think it depends on the individual. Everyone's skin reacts differently, but for everyone it will always work well to drinks loads of water and eat better. Personally I use charlotte tilburys magic face cream. I love it, a little goes a long way. Whilst it is expensive, I find it lasts me a long time and probably takes up the cost of using another brand which I would need to use more of. I've used e45 before, Olay and a few others. But I can't quite seem to go back from this cream.

Please tell me a reason why newbies post a link?

Sorry- your English isn't so great and your question isn't making sense, I'm guessing your asking why newbies cannot post links?
The reason is because in years of experience, from the users, the owners and board guides on MSE, newbies are more likely to post spam, at one point the website was taken over by just days of Chinese spammers posting random Chinese links, as soon as one was banned another would start up...it was a nightmare. So they introduced a ban.

The issue with the Chinese spammers was the worst but by far the only one, a lot of the time, and even in my experience of using the site today, a lot of people join, don't read the rules and use the site and use it to advertise their own site or their own referral links or links which are there for them to financially gain things from.
This is against how the site works- this site is primarily to help people first and foremost to save money not to make people money.

If people do gain (ie if they put a link on the referrers board on the site) that's great, but if everyone used the site to post links they could gain from, we'd just have a site of referral links and spam, it wouldn't be much use to anyone.

I think there is a lot to be said about genes. I am always being complimented on my skin and people often ask what my secret is. So here it is :

    Good genes

Moisturise like a maniac since I was 15. I currently use, as reported in the Independent, a face cream that costs £990. No, I'm just joking :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. I use a wide range but nothing wildly expensive. I buy products that feel good on my skin

I hate the sun and try and keep out of it and slather factor 25 + sun screen on my face and other bits that show

    Don't smoke

    Only drink rarely

Don't use a lot of makeup. To be honest I can't be bothered but as I have good skin I don't need a lot and, according to the "experts" if you use a lot when you are older (I'm 66) it doesnt look good as it tends to sit in the wrinkles

Most of my makeup budget goes on nail products that's a different story
