Why not try a freebie first. Picasa does the job for me.:o

Picasa isn't much of an 'editor' (it's too simplistic in this regard), but some good free editors have been suggested in this recent thread. G

Depends what the OP means by editinging. If its cropping, removing red eye, adding tints and little jobs like that, then I will definatly say picassa, its really really easy to use and I prefer using that than messing with photoshop.

If its for harder editing, I would say Corel paint shop pro photo XI, its the bee's knees and extremely easy to use. You can try a free trial to see what you think of it. You will have to shop around for a better price though http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/gb/en/Product/1155872554948

Some good replies there and it does depend on how 'Serious' you want your program to be. Anyway here's the link for Picasa2.
Goofygat posts the link to a goodly number so why not try a few before spending your hard earned.:p

Corel Paint Shop Pro (PSP) X (one version previous to the latest) for £30 delivered (courtesy of Mobeer).

PSP is excellent as iwanttosave suggests. I purchased a secondhand retail copy of v9 off eBay many months ago for around £10. Even v8 - which you can now get for about the same on eBay - is probably a lot better than any free program out there. Having said that, I use the free alternatives very often & especially for less complex jobs - they load quicker, are simpler & more user-friendly. G
