My credit history was very poor.
I had 2 ccjs which have now dropped off.
I have a aqua card which is 44.9 ape and started 6 months ago at £300 now it's at £1500.
I now have been accepted for a phone contract and I applied for a mbna credit card and got accepted for £1000 limit at 23.9% so things are improving.
How long until I try my own bank a year maybe?
Or more
I pay in full and on time

Why do you need a better credit card? You seem to already have decent credit limits and if you pay the balances in full every month, the APR wouldn't matter.

I think you are doing very well considering your credit history. Leave everything as it is for now. What do you mean by a 'better' credit card anyway? MBNA is pretty decent.0

Bugs me when people can get MBNA cards and they have had CCJs on their files but then me who doesn't, has paid on time for years yet can only get a capital one card with a rubbish limit, no one else will touch me at the moment.0

If you read it, she says that her CCJ's has gone off her file... And also it looks like MBNA has launched a credit builder card @ 23.9% https://www.mbna.co.uk/compare-credit-cards/credit-builder-credit-cards/0

It's been about a year since the ccjs dropped off my file.
This time last year nobody would touch me.
When I said better credit card I just meant through my own bank as it might be easier having a current account and credit account with halifax.
Have you tried the mbna eligibility checker?thats what I used.0 -
So you've been building your credit for the past year (since the ccjs' dropped off) and you just got MBNA credit card accepted. I think you'll have a really good chance with Halifax within the next 6 months. Make an application in a 6 months' time and see what happens. But don't make too many...0

unless you're planning on carrying numerous balances, the actual card(s) APRS are irrelevant.0

That's probably why your being accepted for more than me as I've only been building my credit file for the last 6 months or so, I did have a look at the credit builder from MBNA but it doesn't look like they have a eligibility checker for that specific card, looks pretty decent though and a great APR for a credit builder card.
Your situation is different, as is everyone else's. It shouldn't 'bug you' when someone can get a card you can't, you've been on here long enough now to know there are many reasons people get accepted or declined for a card. In your case several applications in succession will have spooked potential lenders, you need to give it a year or so to settle down, in that time your limit should have gone up on your card and you can consider your next move. I wonder if you are getting declined for other reasons that maybe you haven't worked out, multiple applications can be a reason but there are so many things considered in an application and of course each lender is different.0
