Spend day already,eek.
I was hoping for an nsd,but saw and bought some great bargains in a sale, including two nice birthday presents at half price for friends and supplies of my preferred factor 50 sun protection cream also half price (I'm a redhead).
Ah well...can't win 'em all.0 -
Yes, Chef, if we are having an Italian theme party to celebrate arriving in Bella Napoli, we can certainly have lots of homemade pizza.
Only not the ferret and anchovy. Not after what happened last time. No, I cannot remind you what happened, I am still far too traumatised. Get one of the other NSD gang members to tell you, one who is made of sterner stuff than I am.
Now off to speak to knitwitch about knitting some red, white and green flag bunting for the party decorations....go and measure round our quarters, Igor, so I can tell her how much we need....no, Igor, our living quarters, get that tape measure off me!One life - your life - live it!0 -
Cheffie wants to know if stoat and anchovy pizzas will suffice?
Igor is busy preparing some lovely looking anti pasti....savoury bruschetta liberally sprinkled with hundreds and thousands, some fine second pressing, rancid chip fat to dip the foccacia in,sun dried tomatoes from Peru and some parma ham and melon wedges that was found in one of our antique champer pots back home and carted over wrapped up in Igor's unmentionables,so nicely mature;Fabio is busy with the mortar and pestle making a big vat of pesto sauce,Hubert is rolling all over the home made pasta to make sure there's no lumpy bits (though there might be a few donkey hairs, but you don't mind that,do you?) and Cheffie has a quite glow about him...yes,he's already well into his second bottle of chianti, and his Italian is no better for it...what's that Cheffie...'ti amo bazookie, boom boom, ciao bello bork!'
And Mrs Doyle has a face like fizz cause everyone is going on about coffee.....

(scene: Naples harbour, after sunset. An elegant cruise liner is safely [STRIKE]parked[/STRIKE] anchored. It is completely festooned with red, white and green bunting. Down in the bowels of the ship is Deck A, where the crew are quartered, and where untold horrors lie in wait for those who venture there uninvited.
Behind a locked cabin door knitwitch is asleep in her bunk, loud snores alternating with muttering so f " knit two red, purl two white, knit two green.."
Behind another locked cabin door a manic creature sits gibbering in a bath - hair curlers coming adrift, dentures rattling, the words "I'm a teapot, I'm a teapot" being chanted over and over again......
On the next deck, in the main ship's kitchen, a fat moustachioed chap in chef's whites is burbling " O mio bambino caro, bazookie chicky Bork!"
Something is definitely amiss on the NSD gang cruise.)One life - your life - live it!0 -
(Nargleblast awakens from her afternoon siesta, does her routine count of her various pairs of SpongeBob wellies in case that thieving hairy git Hubert has nicked any, then sounds a loud deep toned bell, which makes the whole ship shake.
Into her cabin slips a slightly-built, slightly twisted figure. He carries a briefcase full of highly-polished chefs' knives and a tatty rucksack containing his collection of recipe books, including the latest hot-off-the-presses copy of Nigella's Fun With 101 Stoat And Anchovy Pizzas.
The two launch themselves into the corridor, with paracetamol, triple strength Valium and Olde Trumping Bishop Stout, their mission - to get the NSD gang back on their feet. )
Come on gang! Parrrtttttyyyyy!One life - your life - live it!0 -
A quiet night in,in other words....
What a fetching combination there Nargle, you really epitomize 'la bella donna' in that diaphanous pink and yellow dayglo sheath dress à la Anita Ekberg/Trevi Fountain.Shame that you spoilt it all wearing the tacky spongebobs and pork pie hat....
Just as well I'm dressed to the nines in my [STRIKE]cheap[STRIKE][/STRIKE][/STRIKE] chic Armani ensemble, courtesy of Scroggins (pre-nobble).Yes my purple suede jodhpurs and nylon/silk blend off white polo neck combo really is a breath of fresh air,and just coming into fashion.
Things are looking up.....
Ok,let's hit the bar and see what's on the cocktail menu.I hear that there'll be dancing later.I can't wait to practise my tango moves on some smooth Italian stallion.0 -
Tango-dancing smooth Italian stallion, eh? Finances don't quite stretch that far, so will Hubert do? He's got four legs and dances the tango....One life - your life - live it!0
