Mooloo's little tapestry of life, 2016

If you want the car Mooloo, go buy it! My family and I have owned loads of Audis, new and old. Great cars and in my experience rarely go disastrously wrong. Like you, I had a Peugeot 307 which blew a head gasket and cost me a fortune to repair. It was a 6 year old car with less than 50k on the clock. Would never touch Peugeot again!0

Thanks.
I am going to have to hang on at least a week as I haven't the time to go looking this weekend. I'm also going to put my foot down about getting a cheap car, just so that I can drive to collect dgd2 and babysit DGS 4 while Biggest Dances. I thought that perhaps I would walk around for the summer, and replace the car in the Autumn possibly. Biggest can take on checking granny's house etc she lives in the same town!
Telling DS I could not be his taxi gave me great satisfaction! But oh I am not fit! Walking everywhere at speed to meet deadlines is wearing me out. But I think I should try to get used to it.
If I find a car I like then all well and good. But in my own time and not to anyone else's agenda! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Have you considered an electric bike, Mooloo? I think you can also get a sort-of towbar for DGD's bicycle so that the motor helps power both of you, and you control DGD's speed and direction. (Sorry, not explained well; brainfogged atm
).
They look like a fun way of getting around locally for those of us who aren't as fit as we'd like to be. And a darn sight cheaper than a car.0 -

The car is going to be crushed by a tank!!! Hehe. The garage said I would get £25 for it as the cost of scrap has bottomed out. So we have taken out the brand new spare wheel, and will try to sell it on line. ( scrap dealer told me I could get between £30-£50 for it.
Now I just would like someone to be able to syphon off the £30 quid worth of petrol I had literally just out in the car. The tank people will pay me £40.
I wish I had part exchanged it last September when I had first wanted to change my car. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I'm not very good on a bike! Gave my bike I got last January, to DS when his bike broke down, as I had hardly used it. I am not safe on a bike at all! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I think it's time to give up a glass or two of wine on an evening. Had some Sunday, and Monday I had tummy upset.
Had some last night and I'm struggling again. Think it's time to not bother!
Best keep the tea bags full and more milk then!
No point enjoying a glass of wine if I'm going to be poorly the next day.
I'm running late to get DGD from her friends where she had a sleepover last night, as I'm not even dressed yet. We need to walk to the other side of town to the babysitter before I can go to the shop. I have fittings at 10am, a lesson at 11.30 on Pattern Cutting, and the children's lessons at 1pm we are making tote bags this week. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Work for the week finally over.
I can rest up for the rest of the day. DGD has gone a few doors down to play with the little girl there. We stopped off at the park on the way home from work, so granny earned a few brownie points.
I think I'm going to finish my cup of tea and try and have a snooze while I can.
The housework can wait a bit longer. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Feeling relaxed, but tired.
It's been a day of fresh air, supporting a friend doing the local 20k Chicken Run ( so called as local chicken factory sponsors it).
Then a bit of gardening and housework, lunch in the garden and then a walk back down the town to watch some of the Soap BoxDerby.
Sometimes I forget how much my body can cope with these days and over do it a little!
So I've just had a soak in a hot bubbly bath. DGD is off playing again.
I need to get my head into business mode and do the wages next! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I was expecting about £90 back pay in the bank today, from my Guardianship funding, however it was just over £30. Not quite so sure why. I will have to investigate.
I was hoping to boost DGDs savings a lot. But still £30 is better than a kick up the back side.
Time to face the day, I can hear the wet roads without even opening my curtains. So it will be a wet walk today for us.
The car gets sold today - for scrap. £40
The cost of scrap has dropped dramatically, so I'm quite disappointed. But that is part of life.
Staff has today off, so a walk to work with my laptop, so I can do the business accounts while working on the shop floor.
Then small jobs that can be done easily with interruptions.
Hems etc will be the order of the day.
Have a good one. I'm trying to be positive and focused. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
