By torque I meant thrust... You know what I mean!

    Emoji cheeky grin!

Yeah but it's all over too quickly like PE , the petrol engines keep spinning up to 6k rpm or more.

Diesels are very easy to drive, especially pooling round Town due to the torque.

And due to being in a PCP you can get rid when the warranty is up!

I thin you missed this bit.

Nothing wrong, just thought you might like to know we got a brand new one 2 weeks ago on a PCP for less than we were paying on our Audi A1 1.6 Diesel (259).

Wife is very happy as it's got the Bang and Olufsen sound pack and heated seats.

I'll zip up my flameproof suit now..

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all MSE's

Which means the OP is and they are saving money..

OP enjoy the new car and don't let those with the green eye spoil it for you, just have a smug laugh as you cruise past them as the await the AA recovery.

Obviously 184bhp 280 lb of torque and 150mph aren't enough for you. Where would your wife use the extra performance of a V6 Quattro?

You are changing your time Byke.... Sorry PCMcGar... Sorry Silver-Surfer.

You said the diesel was faster than the petrol versions when you tried to act smart in your previous post.

Sadly it would seem that you were wrong.

And I don't think the Audi TT Quattro is a V6.

I think they stopped the V6 a while ago as it was not as popular at the 225bhp TT. Which was a four cylinder turbo.

I assume the 2.0tfsi Quattro is also a four cylinder petrol turbo. As is the 1.8 Tddi I suspect.

But feel free to continue to embarrass yourself with your not so witty posts.

    Are you taking medication Silver-Surfer.

As you appear to be posting gibberish.

That is partly why I would only have a TT in petrol form, preferably Quattro.

The new one is certainly a huge improvement over the old one dynamically.

But if you don't need a massive car and it costs less than an A1 why not go for it.

Nothing wrong with having a nice car.

And in this instance it has saved some money per month.

Not everybody's idea of MSE but as I said before being all the same is boring.

Almost as boring as having multiple sign ins to try and start arguments and spoil the forum.

I don't disagree that they are a nice car, and as the OP is saving money, then that is good too.
Money saving is not about living like a pauper, the last 2 cars I have I had from new and purchased outright, but save money elsewhere.
I like the TTs or rs whatever it's called but even me at under 6ft found the TT a little cramped.

From memory the old TT was not overly blessed with space.

Though they are cheap to buy now and still retain value fairly well.

If you avoid the really juices V6 then you might even be able to justify one as Bangernomics!

And as the OP has said on a monthly basis he is better off.

No idea about the Audi but I swapped my 2014 Focus ST (250 bhp) petrol for the diesel version (180 bhp) and have just changed again for the diesel - we change every 9 months.
No way would I go back to the petrol version, it sounds great on paper but in real life it was not that much faster, massive torque steer when coming off roundabouts mean that by the time you can get the power down the diesel version is quite a way in front.
yes the petrol will take it again but at what speed, are you really going to take it to 150 to get past someone who can only hit 130 !!!!!!.
And the main bit - economy - petrol version averaged 22-24 mpg, diesel averages 42 and I don't get home any later, a bit slower and the diesel is in the 50 plus range.

Not sold, very little torque steer on my car , it's like driving a video game .
The economy returns are good too, but then it doesn't have a heavy engine upfront.
