DD has bought me a George Foreman Grill for Christmas. Great, but what can I do with it?
I've tried
Grilled cheese sandwiches (the cheese didn't melt by the time the bread was well done)
Bacon (didn't go crispy)
I rarely buy chops or steaks so what can I do with it besides clean it up and repack it and regift it next year?

Thick stuff works much better than thin i.e. Chops good, bacon not. White bread (sliced) not good, ciabatta cut in half really good.
I cook chicken breast, Mediterranean veg, sausage, steak. Make sure you heat it up really hot before putting the food in too!
I hope that helps.0 -
I had a George forman when they first came out and really liked it,whenitgave up I got a new one however I don't think the new one gets as hot as the old one and the sausages are not cooked as well as before. I have resorted to cutting them in half lengthwise to ensure they are cooked. I also find bacon does not cook as well. It may just be my gf, but wonder if others find this as well?0

Paninis are good, I find it weird that your grilled cheese didn't melt as I regularly do grilled cheese in mine, I do chicken breasts too. I wouldn't cook a steak on it as I have a cast iron skillet that makes amazing steaks. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

I have a cast iron skillet and a cast iron frying pan which do decent grilled cheese sarnies. The GF grill was OK, but so slow! And I did heat it up till the light went off. The bacon steaks again were alot slower than I expected .

I lover cheese and onion toasties, I experimented with them when my sandwich toaster died and they are much better and you don't need butter on the outside.
Beeffburgers, just before they are cooked put some rings of onion on the top and put the lid down. mmmmm
(and themn add a cheese slice or grated cheese after you have got it on the bun....)make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Had one years ago when they fist came out.....and gifted it to a charity shop
My cast iron skillet is more versatile and takes up less room0 -

I bought one of these at least a decade ago, as yet unused....but I feel a mid-week snack-fest with friends coming on! The perfect size for Vogel bread:
