Parking 'Violation' with NPE MJB Hotel Norwich

Options
Hello,

I have a issue where i was apparently in violation with parking at a MJB Hotel 'The Bristol Huse -82 Unthank Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR2 2RW".

Story: Me and my friends were going out in the city and we all booked this room at the MJB Hotel. My friends friend booked it under her name and when i drove there to meet all of them, she gave me the website to book my car under which we assumed was the right thing to do which it should have been. After a few days i get a letter come through giving me a fine of £60. So i obviously sent a email back which said this.

"Hello, I was not in voilation of the parking because I sent on the website that the MJB hotel provided my friend when she got the billing infomation (*********). I went on the website Bookmybay and selected the room The Bristol House. There was no clear indication on what the booking number was so we did enter what we thought the booking number was which was: 919-***-*** Booked by *********** And we also added a note specifying this and also a alternative to my licence plate as i could not remember if it went '**** *** or **** ***'

If you need anymore infomation please ask."

And i didnt hear anything back, so i assumed it was resolved, then i got another letter which increased it to £100 which is stilly.

So i sent them the same email with the same screenshots of all the booking details of our names, booking numbers and all sorts. and i get a email yet again confirming saying it will take up to 35 days for a decision, even though i never got a anything back from the first email...

Once i sent a copy of the email again i then got this through

"Thank you Stephen ******. Your appeal has been received. Please allow up to a million years or so for us to process your appeal. Regards."

Apparently this is a joke for the NPE...

So what should i do... pay the fine to avoid the increase to £150.00? or if i pay the £100 can i be refunded if i am proven innocent?

Thank you

Never phone them, they are scammers all they want is your money, complain to the hotel stating they must cancel this, it is not a fine, it is a speculative invoice. They do not do court and would be daft to even try it in this case.

...and that rejection letter offered a POPLA code? What 3 numbers before the number 5 (4th from the end)? Have you ignored the fact you can use POPLA and instead replied again to the parking firm pointlessly?

Are you serious that they emailed that back, those words?

I would forward that to the DVLA and the IPC and the BPA right now with a complaint about that response, forward it to them so they can see how NPE treat the public:

    david.dunford@dvla.gsi.gov.uk
    steve.c@britishparking.co.uk
and copy in whatever cr@@ppy 'contact us' link the IPC provide on their useless website, as NPE recently moved to them.

Proven innocent, LOL - this is NOT a criminal offence nor a FINE! This is well-known Norwich scumbags, NPE - was the ticket in the name Norfolk Parking Enforcement? This is them (below) this isn't a firm to PAY, don't you dare!

HTH - now tell us about that POPLA code on the rejection letter, the 3 numbers I asked for above - not the entire code.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If you threaten the hotel that you will put bad things on TripAdvisor, I am sure that they will see sense.

Your post reads as if it was written in a state of panic.
1: this is not a fine
2: do not even think of paying
3: you are in danger of doing something daft, such as paying, or giving too much information out.

What is the full name of this entity you refer to as NPE including any limited or any other such as the end of their name, also what is their address?
anyone can come along with a few fake parking tickets stick them to a vehicle and state you should pay so and so by such and such a date, and most (60%) people will just panic and pay up.

Do not contact anyone until you have a letter in the post, never mention who was driving, refer to the driver in the third person as "the driver parked " or as the vehicle as in "the vehicle was parked" no he/she/brother/sister/wife/husband/ friend/uncle/neighbour

    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"
