When my son gave me the letter about his upcoming Prom, I was not surprised that the ticket would cost me £30. I will have to book mini cabs for him to and from the venue, so I did not want to spend a huge amount on his clothing for the Prom.

I trawled eBay for 2 weeks and managed to get everything he needed:

BNWT Men's Black Tuxedo trousers £8.98 including p & p costs saving me £26.02 on the usual price of £35 :D

    BNWT Men's M & S Black Dinner Jacket £11.50 including p & p costs saving me £43.50 on the usual price of £55 :D

BNWT Next white with black trim wing collar shirt £6 including p & p costs saving me £16 on the usual price of £22 :D

BNWT black pre-tied satin bow tie with small white spots £1.95 :D

I have managed to get everything for a total of £27.43 :j

He loves everything and loves the fact that he is going to look like a very young 'James Bond'

He already owns really smart formal black leather shoes and a black formal Next overcoat if the weather makes it necessary.

    # 33 current total = £3147.67

Ooh, well done on the Prom outfit Sugarbaby. We got stung for over £250 for our contribution to DSS's day last year. Suit, shoes, ticket, limo, bottle of fizz...

£1 washkill, which I think is the mini-bet DH had with his cousin over the Euros. Now Englad are out, I think a payment might be headed back to North Wales lol.

Honestly we all want our children to enjoy Prom because it is a well deserved celebration for them all, but it can get ridiculously costly for parents.

Boots order for a total cost of £52.50:

    8 Dove Body Lotions ( 2 X £5 offer) saving me £27.92 :)

    3 X Bassetts Adult vitamins (3 for 2 offer) saving me £5.25 :)

Sanctuary Keep Cool This Summer bag on promotion for £22 saving me £23 :)

Boots Beauty Must Haves Gift Box for free (as I had spent more than £50) worth £50 :T

    Free Delivery worth £3.50 :)

I had a voucher for 500 Advantage card points as I had spent more than £50, the points are worth £5, but I will add these to my total when I spend them

I went to two work-related parties yesterday; one to say goodbye to two colleagues, and the other to fill a business we are trying to get investors to invest in similar properties. At both I wombled two glasses of fizzy drink. At the second one there were plenty of nibbles, a g&t bar, we had a dance show by 4 very energetic modern dancers, etc. I did not have nibbles or g&t, and it was fine. The atmosphere was really good. DH accompanied me and we had a nice evening out.

    Wombled: 4x€2,50.

This afternoon a colleague shared a pack of K.noppers chocolate biscuits: €0,80.
