    Morning :)

It was another NSD for me yesterday. I'm really pleased with how I've managed to reign my spending back in.

I received the £20 from my eldest for the M&S voucher and my books were picked up. So that's money towards my car tax due on the 30th June. I think I'll have to get just 6 months. I haven't managed to get savings set aside for these things yet because I've overspending so much.

My son and I cleared the carport and it looks awesome. XH came over to take a look and he liked it too. As it was his stuff I was a little concerned he wouldn't be too happy with how we'd done things but it seems he was quite pleased with how good it looked. :)

Not alot for possible selling though...just sooo much rubbish or things now needing throwing out cause they've been left to the elements. I did find some old tshirts that I can take to the local 'cash4clothes' though, so that's a bonus.

Picked up my daughter...fuel goes so quickly, even when driving carefully. I'm not going to have a half a tank left like I'd hoped. Maybe a quarter of a tank...I'm planning to walk to all local places from now on. I just need to change my thinking.

I envy you all with your growing. I love the idea of it but I lose interest quickly. I may try to plant something when I get back from my holiday, even if it's just flowers. Now the carport is so tidy, I feel a bit more motivated to fiddle with the rest of the garden somehow...:)

Hope you all have a lovely day. x

When I started my job last November it was on a fixed term 6 month contract that ended on 7th May. When I queried a renewal on 6th May (with contract about to expire, but manager telling me what I was down for doing the next week) I was told it was being renewed. A couple of weeks ago he told me he was looking to make my contract permanent, which suprised me as (from what others have said) I got the impression it's not done until you've been there at least a year.

Opened 2 letters from my employer today. First was a fixed term contract running from 8th May to just 22nd May  Second was a permanent contract starting on 23rd May :T

This means I can now look at some things I needed to be sure of having money for - the main one being taking all 4 of my GDs plus OH's niece and great-niece away at the same time. We've talked about booking a larger unit at H@ven or similar (they don't come cheap), but I can't see eldest GD wanting to go away with us for much longer (she turns 13 this August) so we really need to look at doing it next year !!

    Afternoon :)

Spent yesterday driving...was exhausted when I got home. Ended up putting fuel in my car with my emergency £20. I just didn't want to get caught short...so it can sit in there til next month.

Bought a birthday card for my GS. He's 1 while I'm away and a Father's Day card for my Dad for September, when it's Father's Day in Australia.

    Apart from that....no spends.

I'm using up the last of the fresh stuff in my fridge and then cleaning that out. I'm shopping for a BBQ I'm having over the weekend, tonight. So I want it all sorted in preparation.

I've also cleaned the oven and cleaning the BBQ is next on the list.

I also need to cut the grass but it's just starting to rain so that may have to wait.

Hope you all have a great day. :)

Must try harder with being more frugal and not impulse buy. Had 2 occasions recently that I brought things and afterwards wished that I had not spent the money. Most of the time I seem to manage ok. Am still making a note of what I have spent. Had to get a new shopping trolley as the old one broke. Had enough points on a loyalty card to buy a new one at a certain catalogue shop, so saved money there.

Still managing to do the odd decluttering. As I want to move out of the area where I am currently living hopefully in the next 5 or so years, I have to really try and save more money. There are a few more things that I have to do to achieve this goal.

I'm back on the wagon after an expensive few days entertaining visitors. Too much eating out and "treating" our friends to things has really strained the budget so aiming for three NSD this week to try and balance things out!

Today is not a NSD as the pantry and fridge are almost bare so I'll be going to Aldini with a sensible list this evening. The plan after that is to spend no more on groceries until pay day on 1st of July.

I went overboard on a 50% of sale at a discount clothing store that's going out of business. Seriously cheap prices and I really needed some new tops and shorts. I went a little crazy.
Now I will need to do some serious money juggling to make it to the end of the month. That's ok because I paid in cash and I did not use my CC. Big step forward in keeping my debt down to a manageable level.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Hi guys, subscribed a few days ago and have been reading most of the weekend.

I would like to join and do a 6 month mega blast of challenging myself, starting from 1st July. I keep very detailed notes on my shopping so know everything that i've spent this year.

    My budgets.

No more than £2200 on grocery food. Total so far £1009.66
No more than £310 on clothing. Total so far £175.98
    Christmas 2016 Budget - £390.
No more than £1200 on Social outings/take aways/eating out. Total so far £591.42.

These are the main areas I want to focus on, I won't be updating too much about food shopping and clothes purchases as have joined specialist threads for them, so will keep updates on them to the minimum, but i look forward to sharing my frugal ways with you.

I can't wait to join the 'Frugal Ears' :rotfl:
