I have tried to remove "cortana" from my Win 10 laptop with no success !!
It keeps on reappearing when I try to kill it using Task Manager
One recommendation that I read was to try renaming the cortana folder but Windows self protection comes in to play and I was not allowed to do that.
Has anyone discovered a way to permanently send cortana to "whence it begat" - ie Hell ?
The thing uses over 37Mb of memory - even though it is disabled ...

I sometimes wonder why you bother with a computer at all, 37meg is nothing.
Why not just turn it off and forget about it?
It can be removed - Google is your friend. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -

I think it was here that I saw the lazy man's way to turning off all the MS spy settings in W10 mentioned.

Wherever it was it seems to make turning most stuff off simple. Doubtless there will be other stuff lurking it doesn't cover. To be frank I really couldn't give a tinkers curse on what else MS, Google, HMG, Santa, or others want to know about me.0 -

Funny thing is that you actually think that makes you safe........

An umbrella won't keep you 100% dry but if it's pouring down would you decide not to put the one in your hand up?
Just because our government spies on us, google spies on us, our dns can spy on us, our isp can spy on us, and doubtless many others can to there is no reason not to close some of the open doors if you can.0 -

I wouldn't stop them closing doors, pity it doesn't stop their paranoia though. You either stop panicking or do what you can and go with it.....The alternative is not to use any of it and that's not going to happen.kwikbreaks wrote: »An umbrella won't keep you 100% dry but if it's pouring down would you decide not to put the one in your hand up?
