  • I take it Sun Priority members can book from tomorrow morning, as we just need one more code.

When will the site go live please ?

Is that tonight ? How will we get tomorrows code by tonight ?

Is that "breakfree" then? Or do you mean holiday place?

Cliffo I went "retro" and booked somewhere directly. Normally do Haven in October half term but the cost was ridiculous. Managed to get a larger van and the facilities we wanted on site for what the sun holiday would have cost. Yes the sun holiday is roughly half the price against booking direct with Haven but you are paying a premium for the "brand" which in my opinion isn't worth it.

But everybody is different in what they look for.

We booked one (Primrose Valley) last week through local paper promo with breakfree . co . uk £10pp for easter as it opened before these Sun Hols madness and plenty of choice for parks and dates. So about same price as Sun and a few hundred cheaper than direct
  • I'm not even booking a holiday this time around but still on here to follow things.
With all the new "premium rates" and increase in price for October half term I have found a nicer site with better facilities for the same cost.

No longer are the £9.50 holidays as good as they were. Especially outside peak dates.

I agree although my kids absolutely LOVED Butlins two years ago and have spoken of nothing but it since - it even outranked Disneyland Paris as their favourite holiday destination! So I have booked a Mon-Fri with Breakfree but wanted the follwing Fri-Mon to make it 7 nights - they arent doing that weekend but the sun is :(

What non brand site have you gone with if you dont mind me asking? Would love to add another recommended place to my list :D

We are going to St Ives Bay. Amazing site any time of year. It's no Butlins but if it's a family friendly site on the beach you are after I can't recommend anywhere more highly. They have a club in sire if you want the entertainment side of things or a bistro/adult only bar/cinema room/arcade venue aswell if that's more your thing.

Butlins is good but a rip-off especially in school hols unless you are lucky to get rare deal like with Sun Hol / Breakfree booking otherwise Disneyland Paris might be cheaper
  • The sun offer more parks per area with independent run sites as well as the branded caravan sites etc. I guess that's why they are more popular. And they offer European too.
