Currys saved Christmas

We tried J Lewis but they were less than helpful with delivery in several days
Seriously have you thought about this comment?
What would have been helpful then? For them to have a magic wand and make things mysteriously appear out of nowhere?
Why is it so many complaints that state someone wasn't helpful tend to be from people who in fact seem to have no sense of realism?0 -
Is it not that the OP wanted to buy the fridge off the shop floor there and then and take it home in his own transport - so ' less than helpful' might mean that JL would not sell display stock and obviously delivery would be after Christmas .
It's probably not as easy as we all think to just walk into an electrical retailer and buy white goods to take away there and then . I have previously bought shop floor stock ( fridge freezer like OP) and had it picked up by a local carrier . That was Currys too but I do seem to recall I tried a couple of other places who did not sell shop floor stock.0 -

If you've ever worked in the complaints department of a large company, you'll find there's a common theme. It tends to go like "the attitude of the staff member was awful" (or similar), when in fact all the member of staff had done to tell the customer something that they didn't want to hear....
Whoever first said "the customer is always right" should be shot. If they're already dead, they should be exhumed and then shot.0 -

I agree :rotfl: I worked in a high street bank and some of the stuff people complained about were things totally out of our control .0 -
Well, I think the OP sounds just fine.
Me, I've had mixed results with Currys, ranging from getting what I was looking for there and then from a helpful and cheerful salesman, to walking out after an argument with somebody who was incompetent.
The point about stock is relevant, as many stores do not hold the items at their premises, and so you are stuck with their delivery options; to those, I say that I might as well just go and order online, but don't get upset when they close the shop down due to lack of sales...0
