I have found a wired usb mouse which I have plugged into the laptop and it is working. However, I have gone into the control panel and although the option for 'mouse & touchpad' is there, when you click on it, the only options are for the mouse?0

It is Windows 10 but I can't see how you get to the control panel? I've got an option for settings, then system/devices/network & Internet/ etc?0

I'm in the process of doing that now, thanks. It's taking a while but I will report back when it's finished.
Thank you.0 -
These Windows machines from Tier-1 manufacturers are great, aren't they? Why on earth is it acceptable to new machines, fresh out of the box, to not just work first time?0

because the drives are ghosted from a master , and are often well out of date when unpacked from the boxSave a Rachael

Okay, I've just finished the update (well over an hour) and restarted the laptop, there is still no cursor unless I have the mouse connected which defeats the object really. Using the mouse I have found the device manager and the only "pointing devices" showing are the wired mouse that I have plugged in? I think I'm going to have to admit defeat with this one and take it back, I've spent the best part of 3-4 hours trying to get it up & running!0

Might be worth checking the user guide to see if the same applies to yours?0 -
