Item not received for Christmas

Found an item that would have made an excellent gift for my wife for Christmas, was worried that it was a busy time but it was offered as sent Royal Mail special delivery and seller advertised sent within one day of cleared payment plus seller had over 900 feedback 100%.
Paypal advised me that money sent 21st 11:00 and they had told seller they could send item.
No communication received from seller so after postman passed by on 24th I sent seller an e mail asking if item had been sent but no reply.
Seller has other items still listed for delivery by special delivery for 30th so looks like she is still working.
I understand it's a busy time and I took a chance and I would understand as long as I had received a message back from the seller but as it stands wife has no present and I am £307 out.
I can see why a lot of sellers stop their listings over Christmas.

message them again and ask for tracking number. If they don't respond open INR case because item should be with you by now. If they respond with tracking then check on RM for update. IF nothing is showing I would open INR. seller has receipt and can claim for a lost item. even if item arrives late I think the seller can claim some compensation

Storm Eva caused issues with flights/offloading on Xmas Eve.
So possible your item got caught in that.

As I said I would understand if they had only sent me an e mail about delay, I have a feeling they went on holiday.

OP's item should have been sent by Special on the 22nd with guaranteed delivery on the 23rd.No tracking number uploaded no communication to buyer. and not a cheap item.


Storm Eva shouldn't even come into the equation.. IMO the seller deserves the defects he is owed.

OP paid @11am on the 22nd. You are assuming the seller was available to post before last collection on the 22nd.

Open a case for non delivery now. The delivery estimate should have passed by now. The worse that will happen is the seller will upload tracking and you can actually see where your item is. There is a small chance it may have been delayed but without tracking uploaded, how are you suppose to know that? For an expensive item, sellers are crazy not to upload tracking

Really I'd be opening a case now, as you brought it with plenty of time for special delivery to get it to you. It is a lot of money to not know what is happening with.

Sent another e mail this morning asking if it was sent what is the tracking number, if not sent don't bother as I have bought another gift and just want a refund.
Still no answer, surprised as feedback score of over 900 at 100% with 5 stars in every category.
