Hi everyone, can I join in please?
Nic2075, I use Park to buy M&S vouchers and Love to shop vouchers every year. Also got a small hamper the last few years but won't be doing so this year as I've just taken early retirement and we need to cut back on our spending. After the other company went bust Park put a system in place so if they had financial difficulties the savings money would be protected.
I also save on an Asda card, but only start in September. I put the £144 on over about 10 weeks to get the £6 top up in November. I pay on my M&S credit card and pay it off in full, then M&S give me vouchers every few months for using the card!

We had a fairly well organized Christmas this year. My DH actually asked me if the Christmas dinner was ok, because I spent so much time in the living room this year!

  • Evening everyone, spent this evening updating my christmas planner so all ready for next year and i have dropped my budget even further on some things :D i have also put my 2016 filofax refill in and noted all next years birthdays and important dates so that is ready to go too

MRSBUNNY AND MRSCD hello and welcome, our lovelies always come up with top tips for saving on here

PEPPAPIG i watch pogdogs regularly and it brings me to tears regularly too, the people should have the same thing done to them as what they do to the dogs, and yes its unbelieveable that the dogs still have love/trust in them still, btw i keep meaning to tell you, the quizzes were a big hit on christmas day so say a big thankyou to your DH, the kids loved them!

LELLYO oh thankyou for that, i might have a good look at them and see which ones would be suitable for the nieces and nephews and buy one a month then. Glad you had a lovely day!

    Welcome back MrsCD.

Glad the quizzes went well Freespirit. Meant to do a musical intro one this year but just don't know where the time went!

Bought DD a jacket from River Island just before Christmas to put away for her birthday which is on New Year's Day and when the sale started on Christmas Eve it had gone down from £85 to £45 so I ordered another one for store collection on Weds and when I collect the new one I shall return the original one for a refund. It sold out in the sale within a couple of hours so was glad to get it - just hope it's there on Weds now.

    2024 let's do this !!
  • Hey everyone!! Nice new thread for a new christmas lol. We had a really nice one this year , though it's been odd having one of my daughters splitting her time between us and her boyfriend family. Sign they are growing up in guess.

We have still got loads of food.. eek. Freezer is getting full so will keep us going for the next week at least. I was very very spoilt this year. My dh bought me a chamila bracelet with 9 christmas charms on.. I've always said I was going to make myself a Xmas bracelet when the girls have all grown up as they are expensive.. he's very naughty! He also got me a few swarovski ornaments which are adorable.. and various other items from the girls. I think all the girls loved their gifts this year and dd4's reaction was lovely. Lots of squeals and excitement.

Have already started sale shopping for gifts for bday and Xmas. And got a whole box of wrapping paper from card factory reduced. Maybe I will wrap as I go this year ha lol

I agree this year's Xmas snuck up on us.. wasn't overly feeling like Christmas was it.. I don't think the weather has helped really.

Not long to go now feisty :)

Free I bet it doesn't take you long to get rid of any weight you put on. I haven't weighed in yet but i have still walked 7 miles a day over the laSt week and did an hour and half work out on Xmas day lol so hoping I haven't put too much on.

So glad to be waving goodbye to 2015.
    Totally debt free wohooo 2014

  • Morning all, I am an avid lurker have done for years so going to try and keep up save and make for 2016.

I am another Park hamper user, we are agents for friends and family too about 25 families save with us and it is the best feeling ever handing over Christmas funds to everyone, apparently it is as safe as banks savings the govt have guaranteed something or other to make it safe. You could set up a weekly or monthly DD and just forget about it I am the same Linz I am well into paying for mine too x
