2 Year old Smart Parking PCN

Hey everybody, two years ago in 2013 I fought a parking ticket from an Asda car park and won through the appeals process with POPLA, I still have the email to confirm that the PCN was cancelled by Smark Parking.

But today I get a letter in the post and it says I have to pay a £69.99 Special Settlement Offer because bloody Barry Beavis lost his court case!?

Is this letter just Smart Parking fishing for cash or do I actually have to pay this? Sounds ruddy ridiculous if I do!!

Thanks guys! I tried to search to see if this has come up before but couldn't find anything and I cant upload a image of the letter itself because i'm a "new user"

ok this is interesting , can you host a picture of the letter , as a new user you might not be able to post a link , however if you post on tinipics etc and alter the http:// to something like HXXP:// someone will edit and post it

Haha okay so you think this is worth fighting? They cant come back for people that they've already canceled the PCN with because they won a court case a few years down the line its absurd.

if the first letter refers to the second letter then smart parking could be in very deep trouble with the BPA ,at the point that POPLa rule in your favour "muppet and Co" are obliged by the law to stop chasing you, the bevis case only applies to a very specific situation , and its very possible that your case does not relate to this. likewise DR+ could be , if you found the correct legal assistance be charged with something close to obtaining money by deception or similar

Well in the latest letter asking for money from the canceled charge they refer to the same PCN No. as the canceled charge and on top of that this is the only parking ticket I've ever got in my life lol.

I'll await to see what others say

This is terrible. Email the BPA to complain very, very strongly. aos@britishparking.co.uk

BTW, Smart Parking have not won any court case.
