Turning listings back on ?

  • I didn't hear back from the person who wanted tracking number for an item they purchased, that hadn't arrived after 9 days. They didn't pay for the tracking option. I replied with wait a couple of days more and let me know if it still hasn't arrived. I also uploaded the receipt with their address to prove it was sent on time. A week later I haven't heard back from them, thank god. And to think I nearly refunded them.

Most dissapointed the items i ordered on xmas eve didnt arrive, still waiting maybe they will turn up before midnight?

I do wonder how many people really do think their stuff will arrive during the holiday period?

Did they actually promised delivery on Christmas Day? I can't see any delivery company working, not unless the seller themselves intended to drive over to your home.

Drive over? I should have suggested that but its a long drive from China :)

As above you missed my jokey/sarcastic posts in this thread about what unrealistic buyers expect and how you will never please some of them.

Its drawing the line on whats normal, I have bought stuff at 4pm and it arrived before 10am the next day, should this be the norm or a bonus from an exceptional seller?

I buy quite a bit from China and other countries, when you check the feedback i quite often see negative reviews 3 days after an item was sold saying it has not arrived.

Maybe people think an email arrives from another country in seconds so why wont their parcel?

I didn't realise your post was a joke, however, in China they may well work on Christmas Day, I don't think Christmas is as big a deal as it is over here. :xmastree:

I have also bought stuff from China and I suspect the Chinese government must be subsidising postage to promote international trade, there's a lot of stuff coming from China with free postage. A year ago I won 25 organza bags for 25p, they were delivered free all the way from China! I noticed the envelopes come printed through franking machines with 0.00 in the stamp area.

When you order from China, the estimated delivery dates are 10 days to two weeks away and I only buy from there if I'm prepared to wait. I saw some items being sold very cheaply from China yet I manage to sell mine for a bit more at the same time the others were listed, I guess it was because it was in the run up to Christmas and buyers wanted them fast. :T :snow_laug

Speaking of sales and deliveries, someone's just bought an item from me and paid a few minuts ago, however, I don't think it can be dispatched till next Tuesday. :(

14 days is average from China, I have had some arrive on the 7th day but mostly around the 14 days with a few upto 30 days. One took 45 days once and the other day one arrived after 106 days....

Cannot find anything to see if i claimed INR and got a refund. Probably need to check paypal instead.

My local sorting office closed tomorrow for the bank holiday, and opens again on Tuesday I have had sales every day over Christmas, and thankfully ebays estimated delivery dates take into account the holidays

Same here, a handful of sales from Christmas Eve onwards and all waiting to go Tuesday.

For once ebay estimates look good, something sold yesterday with 1 day dispatch/2nd class shows delivery Thursday, 31. Dec. 2015 - Wednesday, 6. Jan. 2016 . Thursday might be tight but going forward to the 6th Is brilliant.

Nothing to do with government subsidy, everything to do with this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Postal_Union
