I've just had another 'where is my item' email which has killed the mood a bit. A French order posted on the 14th and due between 17-20th December according to ebay :(

  • Two new "late delivery" defects. One was recorded and the buyer was carded and collected, Royal Mail kindly confirmed that it was a late delivery - got that one removed

The other is from a low feedback buyer who ticked the late delivery box but then left feedback saying fast delivery. EBay won't remove that one

Thank goodness I didn't try to sell right through.

I have always managed to keep well below issues with my dashboard, the defects were never an issue nor is my feedback. These new 'late' metrics though are really badly affecting me- and I don't know why.

All my items go same or next day, I NEVER ship late and I often upgrade to 1st class at no extra cost. They all have printed labels via ebay or paypal and all are taken direct to a main mail centre. Someone on the PS board has suggested the new format labels are an issue as they are difficult to scan- I wonder if that is my issue and whether I should perhaps print labels and use stick on stamps for a while to see if it makes a difference?

I ordered my stuff will it arrive Friday before 10am?

Ebay has had some very silly postage dates this week, I think their
computer system is atheist and does not believe in xmas?
Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...

  • I switched mine off last Friday and have just re-opened this evening (Christmas Eve). Hopefully I'll make some sales tomorrow or Boxing Day when people might have some Christmas money to spend!

Me too. We have had sales on Christmas Day in the past, so fingers crossed

  • I had good news from Hermes, they have refunded me the cost of postage & an item I dropped of at the Parcel shop on Nov 12th. :T Buyer didn't contact me till Dec 9th to say it hadn't arrived. I don't think it was a Xmas purchase, thankfully. I've just sent the buyer a message asking whether they received the item before issuing a refund because Hermes said they lost track of it, not that they never delivered it.

No idea what happened to France this year. I reckon at least half the Amazon fulfilled items that went to France were not received on time or at all. It's not a lot but there's a fair amount of outstanding monies there.

As far as holiday settings go, people really don't look at listings. I had several items (on Amazon) that I wanted to keep listed but listed as being back in stock on Jan 9th, I sold too many early on to leave them listed. So I managed to send the ones I had, then put on holiday settings, I'll switch them back on on 4th or 5th. A few days wait is ok, if they haven't read the listing by the time they ask I'll be able to send.

I haven't heard back from my French buyer so fingers crossed item actually arrived. I do occasionally have issues with France and The Netwrlands , no idea why.
