I want to get with me some flour and some rice. Is it okay to bring it with me in the bag in the airplane and travel to an EU country?

Yes, it is OKChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0

Yes, absolutely fine (I'm assuming you're flying from the UK)0

Expect to get stopped by customs, I am sure a white powder like flour will ring a few alarm bells."Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

Customs will be none the wiser if the flour and rice is in hand luggage. Even in hold luggage it's a straight forward process. Test are instant and the OP will be on their way. I think you've been watching too many programs on tv....0

Although why buy flour and rice in one EU country to take to another is beyond me0

Many things can be beyond you and you have to deal with it and not make thick assumptions. It's a special flour and rice.0

Given that pretty much anything can be bought anywhere these days, if it's not possible to obtain these items at the OP's destination then perhaps they are banned goods, and they shouldn't be carried. As that seems unlikely, it's probably just one of those daft things that people decide to take with them for no good reason when they travel.0

I sat on a plane next to a fella who proudly told me he had packed salt/pepper and bread and butter for a self catering holiday in Greece 0 0

Eh? I'm French, every time I go over, I then bring back to the UK a whole bunch of stuff that I can't find here. My hand luggage is full of biscuits and sweets :rotfl:Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0
