I would bang on at them about the v.a.t., and, if they ignore report them to the Tax Evasion Hotline. The more you add to their woes, the more, money it will cost them, and the more likely they are to wash their hands of you.

What happened in the end ? I received one too overstayed by 23 mins and I only have a receipt for a 2.99 purchase !
Is it worth disputing as once you appeal you lose the right to pay the lower amount .

You really should learn from the NEWBIES thread (see my signature below, for exactly where to click - please don't ask where the NEWBIES thread is). The first advice there is to complain to the retailers - which surely you did? Who wouldn't complain about this scam? Store Managers and CEOs of retailers cancel G24 stupid fake PCNs every day.

It's been a while so I thought I should probably update on this. Since the final notice,
I didn't send a reply to G24, though based on this advice I think I probably should've done:

No you don't - it's only G24!

It gets a bit nervy when I see the latest series of Can't Pay? We'll Take it Away where they're increasingly chasing people for unpaid parking fines, implying that more drivers are being taken to court, and losing.

But that's completely different. The only way a High Court Enforcement Officer could get involved, is regarding a proper penalty, a Council PCN someone has ignored (not yours, then) or (rarely) re a private paring firm it would have to be:

- over £600, and it would have to be
- a case the parking firm has won in court, and
- where you then refused to pay in the 30 days after judgment.

Not your case at all; that programme is not about this sort of 'fake PCN' scam. No-one will come knocking, they can't, it hasn't gone to small claims and been lost (and G24 don't do that anyway, at the time of writing).

those tv programmes usually deal with debtors and have very few that are the result of a private company issuing parking charge notices

they also tend to feature cases of over £600 where it has been escalated to the High Court for enforcement , AFTER a CCJ has ben issued and remains unpaid

I think I have seen ONE case on there where it was money owed to a private company for parking charge notices, and these were for multiple tickets where thousands of pounds was owed !!

being the owner or not is irrelevant , because G24 can only obtain the keeper details ONCE at the start of this process, they dont get regular updates and they cannot access those details again just to see if they have changed

we hope you hear nothing else too, but dont make these wild assumptions and dont assume that everything you see and hear is about G24 chasing parking charges through the courts - its not
