Contactless at Petrol Stations - Who accepts Contactless?

So I've got the TSB 5% contactless cards that I might as well use - and petrol is likely to be one of my main sources of contactless, hopefully.

Does anyone know where accepts them - and, less importantly, whether their terminals accept up to £30 yet (i.e. upgraded)

The main list of petrol stations I want to know about:

-Esso
-Shell
-Tesco
-Texaco
-Sainsburys

Thanks guys.

Morrisons do, up to max £30, even with Apple Pay. You can buy Morrison gift vouchers (up to £30) if you want/need to spend more when filling up.

No contactless at Sainsbury and Tesco afaik. Don't know about the others.

I've used three morrisons over the last few weeks, all accepted contactless but all also still had the old £20 limit which caught me out the first time.

Presume it's getting rolled out but seems to be taking some time, two were in the East Midlands and one in South Wales.

We only had a Morrisons Local anywhere nearby and they got rid of that, so now no Morrisons remotely close to me :(

Thanks so far to both of you.

My local BP, operated by franchisee Malthurst, accepts contactless up to £30.

Authorisation was performed online and I noticed nothing was written to the transaction log on the card's chip. Whether this was processed as contactless or not, I can't say.
  • After failing at Morrisons because they haven't upgraded from £20 to £30 yet I asked at my local independently owned BP garage and they have contactless and up to £30.

So why not try your local petrol station if they are competitive and stuff the supermarkets?!

Its easier for small businesses to upgrade to contactless than Tesco et al.

Well Sainsburys don't have contactless yet, maybe it will happen next year.

Use the pfs where you can get the cheapest petrol from.

Just visit the petrol stations near you and see if they have contactless.
  • BP company run sites accept up to £30 also

I've used it at a local bp station as well, but the difference in price between the oil majors and supermarkets in motpst instances wipes out the benefit of using tsb contactless, particularly as I'd use a Santander 123 card as an alternative so could get 3% back in any case.

Does anyone know, as a side issue, whether you get the credit for a contactless payment that you have to conform by chip and pin? I'm assuming not but wanted to check

My local newspaper (which we get delivered to work and just ends up in the bin at the end of the day) has a voucher every Monday and Friday for 3p off at certain petrol stations. My local BP offers "cut price fuel" two days per week. Got my "cut price fuel" yesterday for 100.9p per litre. After the 3p voucher, I ended up paying 97.9p! Bargain.

Can't remember the last time I spent <=£30 at a fuel station.
