0% balance transfer cards

Hi,

Why are there 0% balance transfer cards with say 3% fee (example) and 0% balance transfer cards with zero fee?

Often the same lender will offer cards with and with out a fee.

Are they hoping people rush in and apply without looking into it or is there something else which I'm missing?

I'm planning a big perchase soon and will probably have to do a balance transfer when the 0% intro on perchase's runs out.

Thanks
Dan

    Competition. Customer acquisition.

But not for the same duration. You'll find that zero BT fee cards have shorter intro periods than cards with, say, 3% fees.
