My father is already on three. I know some 3g phones don't work on three that was why I asked.

Have just spoken to CPW & they sell it on their ID network which pigbacks on three so will try it & see. After all I have 14 days to return :)

And? Network is easy to change while keeping the number.

Don't know about 'some' 3g phones, but Doro is 2g-only

Don't waste your and their time. It won't work. However, it will on any other main network and their MVNOs.

Pointless when that is the only network to get a decent signal on where he lives

So how are they selling it on their ID network ?
Will try & report back, I am not to proud to admit if I am in error so that it helps others .

  • Well I visited my local CPW today & they dug out a Doro 508. They went through the book & couldn't find any mention of "3G" so they suggested putting a Three sim in it to see if it worked. Turns out it didn't work :( BUT & this is a weird one put in a sim from IDMobile which piggy backs on the Three network & it worked, even made sure by dialing the shops landline & answering it !
So I have cancelled my order & stand corrected over using it on Three & completely baffled why it worked on IDMobile .

3 sims probably have a different voltage. A signal on ID is prob a old Orange signal, thus while it is there you might not be able to make calls etc as 3 bar access where 3 signal is said to exist.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
