Hope this offends.
christmas is very over rated and just and excuse for a day or two off0 -
I have never heard of it
I'd never heard of "Black Eye Friday" until today either.
Apparently it's to do with people breaking up for Christmas, consuming far too much alcohol to find themselves in a fight (person or pavement!) and spending the night in A&E.
That's one of the few reasons I'm glad I work weekends; I start too early to go out at night :rotfl:It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
And tomorrow is Panic Saturday apparently. And that is down to shopping.0

And next Friday is the "fight with the relatives you only see once a year" day...

Saturday for me.
I apologise to everyone about not being able to see them as I am dining with Someone Else (selecting the Someone Else to fit the relative) and barricade myself in on Christmas day.
Then on Boxing day I go a visitin' leaving The Dog at home, so that I can claim she will need to go out for a wee about 30seconds after I arrive
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Panic Saturday - I have never heard of that either0

I get out lots of time - the panic saturday is obviously a media hype up to try and get people out shopping and getting into debt.
it is all media hype and means nothing to most people
for the last fifty years i have done my christmas shopping and when everybody got paid on a thursday the shops would be busier on the friday
we always went out for a few beers when we finished work we called it a christmas drink
Black friday, cyber monday, mad friday, panic saturday mean nothing to most they are just news items to create hype and generate extra sales for the retailers and the pubs that seem to be struggling more and more0 -

Don't think so, its just something that has invaded the populace,
THE SHOPS WILL BE SHUT FOR 24 HOURS!!!!
Panic! panic! panic! Buy! Buy! Buy!
Did you see that "Eat Well For Less at Christmas" when the family spent £1400 on food & drink for 2 days, and expected to throw half of it away?
(I remember when you could clear the supermarket shelf by rushing upto the sugar, putting 3 bags in the trolley and mentioning there is none left in the next town because of "The Strike"
