Sold as preconfigured android boxes which let you stream films/music/tv shows/live channels/sky sports for free.
This works by using a number of XBMC/Kodi add-ins that let you connect to unauthorised/unlicensed streams. It may all work as soon as you plug it in, but as the months go by the streams will slowly get blocked/moved to different repos/shut down.
Nothing you can't fix yourself by following online guides, and you could even build the box yourself, but it's not for the faint-tech-hearted. There's a bit of a learning curve and you won't get much help on here because the streams give access to things that you should be paying for.0 -
You can simply use any android device and use the tvmc addon to do the same0

or even a non android device
tvmc is available for windows as well , ideal for testing out before buying a dedicated deviceSave a Rachael

KODI works well on a Raspberry Pi, available for under £30.
You download the Kodibuntu or Openelec images that you write to an SD card and have your devices like mouse or media keyboard plugged in when you first boot it and they get detected.
Not plugged anything into mine that didnt work right away. MS media centre remote, Xbox360 controller, PS 3 controller, wireless dongle and several mouse and kg combo's.
I use mine for KODI and gaming (MAME)
Uses a tiny amount of power also.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
and what are you using for the receiver in order to use the xbox/playstation remote controls
a link to a "dongle" that works with the xbox remote would be handy ,Save a Rachael

You dont need to buy a box. You can just as easily run it on your lappy/pc if you have a hmdi connection to your tv or just view on lappy..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

I bought a box for the sake of convenience - it sits on top of the Freesat box and apart from the various streams plays just about any media you care to throw at it. As would a lappy of course but mine has a home elsewhere.0

Depend on the box. You get some crap ones and some good ones. You can even try Raspberry - but you won't get HD as the processor is too slow.
You can get Windows boxes as well as Android ones. It really depends what you want to do with it.0 -
or you can buy a intel nuc (513 upwards) with a M.2 card in it , and a basic xbox remote , and run openelec , then never look back
however , its an expensive option , mine also has a 128g ssd and 16g of memory and can boot from either (win 10 or openelec) , but look at the top end of £400 to do thisSave a Rachael
