    Crown estate land most certainly does belong to the queen, although she does not have the right to sell it.
    It is hers by right of her being the ruling monarch.

    It is also wrong to say that the land is controlled by the government. It is actually run by the Crown Estate Commissioners, an organisation who are independent of the government.

    Hi

    It doesn't belong to the queen. It is owned by the state.

    The crown estate commissioners have to report to parliament every year with an annual report of their actions. If they were not under the governments control then they wouldn't have to do this.

    The simple fact is with a profit of over £250 million a year if this was owned by the queen then she would get that money. The reality is it goes to the treasury because as I have said it is state owned....

    best you try telling that to the Crown estate themselves as they seem to think otherwise.
    Who owns The Crown Estate?

    The Crown Estate belongs to the reigning monarch 'in right of The Crown', that is, it is owned by the monarch for the duration of their reign, by virtue of their accession to the throne. But it is not the private property of the monarch - it cannot be sold by the monarch, nor do revenues from it belong to the monarch.

    The Government also does not own The Crown Estate. It is managed by an independent organisation - established by statute - headed by a Board (also known as The Crown Estate Commissioners), and the surplus revenue from the estate is paid each year to the Treasury for the benefit of all UK taxpayers.

    Hi again!

    I understand why you're making this mistake as it can be confusing. The U.K. assigns royal titles to various functions of the state which give the impression that they are owned by the queen. The reality is they are not.

    If we got rid of the queen tomorrow who would get the crown estates? Would it be the queen or the state? The answer is of course the state.

    It is the same as when we name a war ship. It's called HMS victory etc. This ship isn't owned by the queen even though it is called her majesty's ship victory.

    The crown estates can say they are owned by the queen as much as they like. The reality is they are not. As your link says it is not the Monarchs private property, they can't sell it nor do they receive any money from it. How you can class that as ownership is ridiculous :-)

    It is sweet that you believe this though.

    It's even sweeter that you think you know better than the Crown estate commissioners themselves.
    Presumably this is also wrong as well?

    “Crown land” means land in which there is a Crown interest or a Duchy interest;
    [F1“Crown interest” means any of the following—
    (a) an interest belonging to Her Majesty in right of the Crown or in right of Her private estates;

    So irrespective of what you think, the powers that be disagree with you.
    Personally, I know who I believe more.

    Hi again!

    That link doesn't really prove anything! Crown estates would fall under the bit you've bolded eg "right of the crown". That is a ceremonial title which gives the queen theoretical control over certain aspects eg the crown estate when actual control of this entity is by the state.

    You will find many examples of UK law that reference the queen or "right of the crown". This is all meaningless and is just one of the wonders of being British!
