Can this be moved to the appropriate place.
The OP needs a lesson on where to find The Arms.
Here's a clue:

Thanks Wealdroam for stepping in as the self-appointed forum police enforcer but I don't require you to tell me where I can post a vent.
PS, the clue is in the title!0 -

I'm saying that news alerts should be for important, breaking news stories which will have major interest to the MAJORITY such as a terrorist attack or plane crash etc.
Again, just because you (or me) don't like photos of the Royal Family doesn't mean that everyone else doesn't want to hear about them, though I do concede that you have a fairly strong case point in that example (so I'm not missing the point entirely!).
The Star Wars example is a bit more clear cut in my opinion. It is legitimately newsworthy because it is a big deal right now!Popping up a news alert because some gormless people release photos through their well-funded press machine, doesn't mean that the BBC news dept should run with it, let alone create a news alert for it!
Then may I suggest you delete the app immediately and go find a more reputable news company?0 -

Am I the only one wondering which "unemployed royals" managed to annoy the OP with a news story this morning? It can't be the Cambridges, as he is not unemployed, he is employed as an Air Ambulance pilot - she may not be working full time at the moment but the majority of women with a 7month old child are still on maternity leave and many stay as full time Mums until the youngest child is in school ....0 -

The ones who receive free taxpayers money to live the high life in palaces, you know, housing benefit and unlimited handouts for billionaires. Actually, that's all of them!0 -

Are you really being serious?. The Crown Estate made a profit of £285 millions pounds last year which goes into government funds. Plus the UK gets hundreds of millions of pounds pumped into the economy because of the royal family. I think they deserve the £40 million pounds the royal family get a year!.0 -

I'm very pro the monarchy but the crown estates don't really have anything to do with the queen. This is state owned land that is controlled by the government and is only referred to as crown estates due to historic reasons.
I believe they link funding of the royal family to the income of the crown estates but that is just a measure for convenience, not because the queen owns it.0 -
Next up on what the BBC app calls "news": David Cameron pictured picking his nose and wiping it on Jeremy Corbyn's jacket0

Crown estate land most certainly does belong to the queen, although she does not have the right to sell it.
It is hers by right of her being the ruling monarch.
It is also wrong to say that the land is controlled by the government. It is actually run by the Crown Estate Commissioners, an organisation who are independent of the government.0 -
Hmmm so a firm which generates a profit and employs thousands over hundreds of years is less news worthy than one which takes a tax credit and employed maybe a thousand people for a year or so.0
