£4647 for new British Gas boiler? are we being conned? please look at price breakdown

As you've spotted, the sums don't add up to the price quoted. If I actually add up the figures, it cones to £1871.84, which doesn't sound unreasonable.
There's no way replacing an existing boiler should cost anywhere near £4600.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
The boiler may well not need replacing. Get a 2nd opinion from an local GasSafe engineer.
If it does need replacing, that is an outrageous price for the boiler, and as for the cost of the finance: 40% .... outrageous! :eek:,
So.......Get a 2nd quote (or 2) from a local GasSafe engineer.

Yes, the timing is unfortunate - getting a new boiler beofre Christmas is unlikely, though a fix is perfectly possible.
Cancel that British Gas order though, both by phone AND with a written letter asap.0 -
British Gas boiler prices are typically inflated in price by at least double what can be got elsewhere.
Much like kwik fit their staff get low basic high commission so they will try and sell as much as possible, mostly unneeded,0
