I think they can probably cover their holidays but as you say no sick pay no employer pension contribution the risk of periods with less work. A salaried gas safe plumber could earn £35k a week in the South East so £50k does sound to bad. I think the median male full time earnings about £35k.
I'm surprised how much property prices have increased over the last couple of years with the price of a 3 bed semi increasing by 30%. The town I was brought up in is just inside the m25 I now live about 20 miles further out and property is about 40% cheaper.0 -
