Shrink wrap your suitcase before getting to the airport?

Can you? We're taking boxes of goodies in the hold to our friend abroad. I want to shrink wrap for security, but where do you get it done? Thx.

Surely it would stick out like a sore thumb and be an obvious case (sorry) for customs to open?0

I assume you mean airport security (it wouldn't matter if customs want to open it as you'd already have it back in your possession then)? Either way, no it wouldn't. It's not unusual to have cases wrapped and they see it all the time. Security would only open it if the xray scanners showed something of concern.0 -
I think I've seen this service offered at an airport (and I've certainly notice shrink wrapped luggage on carousels) Either Manchester or Heathrow but probably at others too.
Should be simple enough to google it.0 -

I know they do it at some airports, but don't want to leave it until last minute, or find the counter closed when we arrive at 6am.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Shrink wrapping is like advertising there is something in there worth stealing. It certainly won't stop someone from getting into your case if they want to, just like locking it won't.0

If they did, good luck to them. They'll find books, paint and chocolates. I want to shrink wrap in case the paint leaks...Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Just put the paints in a plastic bag if you're worried they'll leak. At least that way they won't ruin everything in the suitcase, like they would if it was shrink wrapped. If they're flammable though they'll most likely be prohibited anyway.0

Paint is banned in hold luggage0
