Totally right tea lover. I posted this really quickly to get it in the Deals Team's update of the Kids Guide ready for tonight's weekly email.
I'll update the post.

We'd love to hear about the Hyde Park, Cardiff, Manchester, Glasgow and Balleygawley Christmas experiences if anyone's visited and thought it was good value and good fun! Thanks

I went to Hyde park winter wonderland a few weeks ago. It's pretty but dear lord it's expensive
Most, if not all the play stand things were a minimum of a fiver for a go. The selling stands weren't selling anything I couldn't get cheaper elsewhere or even attracted my attention for prettiness. £4.50 for 4 doughnuts that weren't even that great tasting.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. But did you have fun? I guess that's the main thing! :jKeeper of: Supermarket coupons, Birthday freebies, School holidays & Cheap perfume guides.

We went to Hyde Park winter wonderland on Friday & Saturday with 2 different groups.
Yes it's expensive, it was packed on Saturday and a little less busy on Friday. Rides cost a fortune, food & drink is expensive too but yes, we had fun walking around (a little bit of rain on Friday, none on Saturday to speak of).
I don't know if it's possible to take your own food & drink in, we didn't & I don't recall seeing people having a pic-nic.
I think it would be difficult to take kids over the age of 5 and have a cheap day. I don't consider it value for money, not at £1 per token & rides wanting a minimum of 5 in a lot of cases.0
