Camera lost on board easyjet flight

My camera was unfortunately left under our seat on an easyjet flight from kefalonia to Gatwick on 2nd October. We realised our mistake at Gatwick after going through luggage claim but we're told the crew had not found anything. Subsequent police investigation revealed no cleaners had gone on board and the crew has done a quick sweep for rubbish and it was suggested it might have gone back out on the next flight, which the cleaning contractors advised was to Naples from Gatwick.
I have been calling easyjet's lost property company periodically since then on their advice to check returned international items but to date have had no success. They advise me Kefalonia rarely send items back to them but couldn't say why and they suggested I contact them directly. I cannot see any contact email for Kefalonia airport. I already emailed Naples two months ago on two separate email addresses found for lost property but have had no response.
Does anyone have any advice or been in a similar situation? The reason I desperately want my camera back is that I was proposed to the day before and this was also our first family holiday with our toddler and all of my photos are gone.
Any advice would be appreciated.

It won't be in the possesion of easyJet. Lost and found items on board are handed over the airport which then sends them to Gatwick after 5 days. You need to file a claim here:

If they don't have it I think the chances of getting your camera back are very slim.
There is more info on the easyJet website, including contact details for all their airports.

If it was left under the seat in front of you, that would be different, but the crew not finding it during their 'tidy up' is unlikely.Evolution, not revolution0 -
If its not found in lost property then I think you have to chalk it up to experience, should have put it inside hand baggage if it was that valuable.0

It won't get your pictures back but you may be able to claim on your travel insurance to replace the camera.0

I recently left my wallet on the seat of a plane and my wife left her jacket. We were having a bad day.
I got my wallet back but my wife's jacket had disappeared without trace. Probably nicked by another passenger. She's a bit miffed as it had been moved by a flight attendant, mid-flight, to another overhead locker further down the plane.
It seems a full police report is necessary to claim on our travel insurance. Tricky when we won't be returning to the country of loss for a while.0 -

Most insurers accept proof of a report to an airline in a situation like this. Otherwise, see if you can make a report at a local police station: the purpose of the police report is to ensure that you have not simply invented the loss, and your local police are as likely as foreign police to notice if you are telling an invented story.0 -
Really hope Jean-Paul (:))'s links will take you to the right place and a somehow you will hit the jack pot. It is a pity you've left it that long though as any time elapsing will make it less likely of a positive outcome. Unfortunately, the chances are that a passenger saw it and just kept it but crossing fingers for you it wasn't the case.0

If the airport has a twitter or FB page maybe you could try there too.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I did a similar thing with a mobile phone a few years ago when it worked it's way out of my pocket. It was on my way out. I was told it would be sent back to the UK. Eventually I spoke to someone at Manchester airport who laughed at this suggestion and pointed out it had probably been taken by the cleaning crew. I would suggest your camera, like my phone, is long gone I'm afraid.
I now always travel with zip pockets.0
