hi all,
im currently on live chat with a parcel2go rep, and i have a feeling they will be giving compensation for damage and delay,
however i have had problems before and really would like to take my business elsewhere, last time they did compensate me they paid it into a pre pay balance to be used with the again.
i would rather take my business elsewhere and this is the last straw.
do i have to accept THEIR method of compensating me, or can i demand them to send me a checque or other method i choose?
thanks
dan

If you paid by cheque, then a cheque refund should be expected.
Similarly, if you paid by card a refund to the same card is in order.
All that assumes that you are a consumer.0 -
hi, yes i am consumer, sending an ebay item off to buyer,
is their anyway i can get them to send me it other than giving me a kinda of credit note on my account, as once its in my pre pay balance i am kinda forced to use them again to use it up, and have lost all confidence.
also if i have money left over in the pre pay balance aside from this compenstion, can i ask them to withdraw it for me and give me it back - i think there is £5ish in there aside from what they will give me compensation0 -

I though that at first but after re-reading the OP, have changed my mind.
If the OP was being refunded the postage cost alone then I agree that it should be paid in the same form as the original payment, but as the payment appears to be for damaged and delayed goods, I think that this should be paid directly to the OP by either cheque or into an account of their choosing.
After all, what use is money to compensate for damaged goods if that money can only be used to purchase further Parcel2go services and isn't available to enable replacements or repairs to be purchased?0 -

thanks for the reply, that was my thinking, i have lost all faith in them and would like to be compensated and go elsewhere. it doesnt seem to make sense that they can keep me in their "world" and i should be able to have the compensation given to me as a liquid, freely usable method, eg cash or similar, not as money i can only use with the company that caused the issue in first place.
i was unsure on this, as whenever i have had to claim compensation before, i have either had cheque or similar. and also for example my RMail account i top up regualarly, but they say at any time i wish, i can request a withdrawl of any thats in there, ive never done this, but they clearly allow it.
thanks

Was that one off sales of old possessions of yours? Or is selling on ebay something you do regularly? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
How can you lose all faith in Parcel2go? They are compensating you for damage and delay to a parcel that was in the hands of a courier company that you selected. So surely when you select to send a parcel again with them select a different carrier. It is not parcel2go that collects and delivers the parcels.0

hi, normally i would agree, but in thier role of middle man this time they are at fault,
the courier company, sent item back to sender, but coz parcel2go are technically the account holder, they sent it to them, and they kept it for 2 weeks! numerous lies told to me which i proved with the transcripts of live chats (i wonder how many people dont fill it in to get the text of the chats sent to email).
and they have gone way down anyway, if courier X has a service, which (if you could book through them direct) with say £50 std insurance. p2g sell that same service, but strip off all built in insurances and charge extra and also if courier X says 24 hours, they tend to add an extra day onto that.
162 reviews on google come out at 2.3/5 stars, which i found today!
they have since offered me a goodwill gesture - of the price of item, note goodwill, as in not admitting any fault!
this is into my bank account via bacs or £24 if ill accept pre pay credit.
thanks for the replies0 -

There was a reason I was asking how you were selling on ebay btw.
If you were selling old possessions then you're a consumer in your courier contract and you can't sign away your legal rights - by agreeing to their T&C's for example.
If however you make a habit of selling items on ebay as a way to get extra funds, then you'd be a business and you can sign away your rights which might mean account credit is all you can demand.
So their goodwill offer may be exactly thatYou keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
