I don't think WASPI will care - over 88,000 people are in agreement and have signed.

True that they won't care, but I care about not compromising my principles.

Well, you could start a petition.

You could contact your MP and express your views. He/she was elected to represent the views of his/her constituency.

I've put a link to where you can find your MP details on my signature below to make it even easier for anyone who should want to express their views!

That's all cool. You can focus on things you 'can' do rather than things you can't.

I can't imagine you will be even remotely concerned about what I believe or don't! Thus, not an issue!

I said my stance was sympathetic, not passionate.

The actions you describe are the actions of a person who is passionate about this issue. You appear to be very passionate on this subject, so, when you start your petition on the issue, what I 'can' do is read it, and sign it if I'm in agreement.

No doubt you'll put your link to your petition on this thread.

I won't comment on your last sentence, as it is not an issue.

But hopefully, if you were starting a campaign, you'd have looked into it in detail, and make sure your campaign included ALL people in the affected group (see my post above) and also consider if, as a result of your campaign, they'd be a different group of people who'd feel they were getting a raw deal

To be honest I wouldn't start a petition, I have too much going on in my life and just don't have the time, if I was upset about the petition maybe I would have to think about finding the time. I don't actually think much will change, maybe I would be more motivated if I thought it would change anything.

That's fair enough, but what I was getting at, is that the people who started WASPI and their petition, maybe haven't thought things through properly, and can't see, if they got their way, that other people would in turn feel aggrieved and not treated fairly

Ah, there is a distinction then ...

Not sure why you came to the conclusion that I was passionate about it. I'm merely a forum member posting my opinion .... I tend to have my own opinion and don't go with the herd mentality.

Not sure where I said I was starting a petition .... it must have been a typo ..... or your reading skills are letting you down again.

Naturally I would ..... but as I'm not starting a petition then don't wait up for it. As mentioned though there is a link on my signature for you to seek out the contact details of your MP and appraise him of your sympathetic stance!!

Of course there's a difference between 'sympathetic' and 'passionate'

But really, it's all getting a bit silly now, so I'm not engaging with you anymore

I reached that view about 10 pages ago .....

Perfectly sensible conclusion and entirely optional at any stage ....

    nearly 89,000 now. :j

What I think is unfair is the huge difference in the ages women get their pensions. My friend is 12 months older than me but has been getting her pension since last summer. I have to wait 3 years longer. A year and i wouldn't complain ... But THREE is unfair. :(

There has been quite a few posts on their Facebook page where people have been pointing out that many women ( and indeed some men ) are being missed out in their campaign.

The comments have been civil and are often just asking questions but they are very quickly told that they haven't read the petition correctly or, in most cases, removed completely.

They're not actually interested in equality and fairness but only interested in achieving compensation for not getting their state pension at 60.

In that case, I'm ashamed to be even remotely connected to them by the simple act of signing their petition.
