Missing parcel whose at fault?! HELP

Hi!
I sold some clothes on eBay this week & posted via my Hermes tracked on Friday morning I noticed that the parcel had been delivered. Didn't hear anything all weekend so assumed all was okay this morning (Monday) I got a message from the buyer saying she had "just noticed" a calling card saying her parcel had been left in the bin all weekend & the bin was emptied and collected this morning. Now I think this is rather convenient that she happened to of noticed the card just after the bin was collected. Not sure who doesn't check for post daily but anyway, who is at fault here? Parcel was supposedly in her possession for 3 days & she is not saying the parcel is stolen or lost but that she never checked the bin & therefore in my eyes threw it away herself. Should I refund her myself & try to claim of the insurance or let her take up the argument with Hermes herself?!
Any help much appreciated

Even though she's not disputing it didn't get delivered & she didn't receive it? ive got a feeling my Hermes aren't going to let me claim because she is just saying she didn't notice the parcel was there until the bin had been emptied & not that it was actually lost or stolen

surely if it has been delivered and hermes have put card through door and its now 3 days later no claim householder at fault0

I think if she just failed to notice a calling card, so it got delivered and she got notified, it's her fault. Especially since she must've been expecting the parcel. How can you not notice a calling card before putting out a bin. I always check my bins anyway before putting them out. Plus I'm sure she got a your parcel has been dispatched notice from ebay. I don't think you can refund and claim from Hermes as they have delivered and she lost it.01/26: OD £1200 600, CC £3914 3317, family £3100, loan £5618 5306- total: £13832 12323, mortgage £58,243 £57,7660

So it got delivered Friday, parcel placed in the bin because she was out, card through the door, Monday she puts the bin out to be emptied then finds the card?
She would of been notified by EBay the parcel is on it way so I would of been tracking it....Did you supply the tracking number?
Apart from anything else, who doesn't put rubbish in the bin for 4 days?
Check her feedback history she if there is any indication of a pattern.0 -

What was your contract with Hermes?
To deliver it to the buyer or put it in a bin?
What's the difference between you and this thread?

I assume you instructed My Hermes to deliver to her door rather than her bin??
What is the tracking saying?
I would ask for a photo of the card, then refund your buyer and claim from the courier, as they have not met their contract.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
OP were you selling off some of your old clothes or were you operating as a business?
Did you choose the courier and organise them or did the buyer? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
You can request she opens an INR with EBay who most likely find in your favourite if there is proof of delivery, in the bin or otherwise, but if you value your account as a seller, refund her and claim from My Hermes. If the buyer organised the courier it's up to her to claim from them.0

If there is not signature on the card, then claim off Hermes.0
