Got a letter this morning from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd regarding a past car park ticket fine from 30/07/15 saying we now owe £160
The fine was issued due to us Parking for just over 2 hours on McDonalds car park , the frustrating thing about it was we where in McDonalds for the full time as it was my daughters birthday party and she had her school class friends with her , we appealed an even sent a copy of our bank statement in to prove we had spent over £60 in McDonalds at the time our car was parked there , however they replied back and said the appeal was unsuccessful , I did a bit of reasearching on here to which a lot of people said ignore it there a bunch of cowboys
Didn't agree with how they sent the letters aswell with my name and debt recovery plus showing through the glass window of the envelope
Just a bit worried about this letter now , where do I stand with this and whats best to do
Thanks

Did you get a POPLA code with their appeal rejection letter?
Who told you to ignore them? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

We are all so fed up with these low life parking scammers
Assume that with such a party going on at Mcdonalds, you have proof of this, receipt, credit card statement or the like.
Then you blast the CEO of Mcdonalds UK. Search on google, "ceo of mcdonald's uk"
He needs to fully understand that the such sharp practice he allows is very detrimental to Mcdonalds as it will alienate customers.
Demand he gets the ticket cancelled
McDonalds is not doing that well at present and can ill afford bad publicity0 -
It is not a fine.
Who was the parking scumpany? If they were BPA members nobody here would have told you to ignore after the initial appeal, however they might have done if they were IPC members.
As above, complain to the manager of the shop and/or the CEO. Tell them in no uncertain terms that this will be the last time you, your friends, or your family will set foot in a mucky D's again unless and until this ticket is cancelled.
As also mentioned above, Post 4 of the NEWBIES thread tells you exactly what to do with debt collectors' bog paper.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.
All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -

The way ahead fruitcake, this method has always worked for me.
Everybody should fully understand that there are far too many retailers chasing far less money.
I think the penny is dropping with retailers that by employing these parking cowboys will actually lose money for them.
Even Lldl and Aldi, the cheapie boys in retailing are now rated as the most expensive in the UK, if their customers are hit with such parking tickets.
IT IS VITAL that if you have a receipt for shopping and the cowboys give you a ticket, you complain to the CEO of the retailers, making it very clear you will never shop with them again unless they cancel the ticket0 -
Yes I think got a letter with something POPLA on it , ill have to route through and find it , I read a few posts that sead rip it up and ignore it there just trying it on0

The days are gone that you ignore it, except I believe in Scotland.
Understand that these vermin want your money, they are not open to reason. So, if you have a ticket where you were shopping, blast the CEO as long as you can provide a receipt.
Smart CEO's will do something to protect their business
Dumb CEO's, there are a few around, have to answer to the shareholders0 -
So what will happen will they take me to court0

So what will happen will they take me to court
Best to find the paperwork. There are time limits to appeal.
You should really take Mcdonalds to task. If you can get them to cancel it, end of story
Nobody can say if they will take you to court, the vermin work in odd ways.
Do not deliberate, bitterly complain to McDonalds and do not be put off if they say they cannot cancel, they employ the vermin, McDonalds cannot expect customers if they hold them in contempt0 -
So what will happen will they take me to court
If you have a DRP letter, the odds are that they won't be going to court but this option remains possible for the next six years and you never know when they might decide to trawl their older victims.
So its still better to take action to stop this dead now - Either by POPLA if you are still within time limits, or by a direct approach to McD's senior management.0
