You're doing the right thing. :beer:0 -
I wouldn't advocate lying to NHS as they will have your partners medical history if you told the truth. It's best to be open especially with health. Even your health could affect baby so if you were to become pregnant again please be honest with them.Mortgage free wannabe

Unfortunately, you cannot trust the NHS with personal information. What you are saying is correct, but if you give them any information that allows them to connect you with information they already hold about you, you do not know what they are going to do with that information.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -

Please stop with the unhelpful posts. You've clearly got issues with the NHS, quite possibly with good reason, but your posts are of no help to the OP. They're here for support, not scaremongering.0 -
I agree, but people need to be aware of how the NHS uses and passes on their information. Too many people trust the NHS and its staff too much.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

            Hello TopazTiger
I haven't followed your "story" from the beginning- but I wanted to say you sound like such a caring and sensible person - well done on not over-reacting and waiting until the meeting to see what it actually being proposed.
I haven't had young children for some time now- but I wonder if a similar system to Surestart volunteers are still available- they were people ( all vetted and trained by Surestart) who helped people who had been identified as needing a bit more support - if something like this was available for even 6 or 8 hours per week - hopefully this would allow you to keep your job and your self respect - and also possibly help your partner with learning some techniques etc for coping with caring for your baby.
I wish you the very best of luck.0 -
Home start are a charity that help people who need practical support with children under five.
Also, SS can provide help in the form of a care worker. In a case that I am aware of, a care worker visited twice a day following the birth of the baby. Mum and dad both had a learning difficulty. The care worker taught them how to look after the baby, and gradually the parents took over. The HV also visited daily. This couple went on to have a second child, and although SS were still involved, the care worker was no longer needed before this happened.0 -

Has a family group conference been suggested and what support did your family offer when your older child was adopted?surreysaver wrote: »Unfortunately, you cannot trust the NHS with personal information. This is a safeguarding issue and the midwife has no option but to inform social care of the pregnancy, medical records would show the history of a previous birth and with or without the mothers consent information would have to be shared.kingfisherblue wrote: »Home start are a charity that help people who need practical support with children under five.

Nobody on here knows what support this couple may or may not have received previously, however the Child Protection Plan will be very clear about the expectations of the parents and the support to be provided to assess if this child can remain safe in the care of the parents.Originally Posted by topaztiger1983
OK had a Case conference today & our daughter had been placed on a child protection plan (to be reviewed in 6 months), the issues surrounding work are still not clear, gonna have a chat with SW tomorrow, but my employer is saying I have to work at least 4 hours a week as my contract states that I must or be in breach of my contract, SW seems to be trying to push for me to stay in work at least part-time, but will have a new SW in January 2016, as current one is only duty SW (although she wanted to take the case on, but was not allowed to as she is duty SW only)
All professionals have spoke of us in a good light, but historic events & my partners Learning difficulties have dictated that we need a CPP
If this was an Initial Child Protection Conference then Review must be within 13 weeks, so not 6 months. Duty SW are used to passing on cases at this point so I would be surprised if one asked to keep the case.
Are you in PLO - pre proceedings process?
Have you had a parenting assessment? or is this the purpose of the residential placement?
I know this seems like a lot of questions but I can't offer any advice or opinion without a clearer pictureMama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -
