2 extra coins in the pot tonight because, devastatingly, the lady at the supermarket kiosk had no £5 notes and had to pay my change in coins... oh dear!

On a slight aside, I may have commented about this in last years thread but I gifted several friends with a 'pot of dreams' as last years christmas gift along with a little poem about saving money and how much they might save if they fill it with only £2 coins. I had a lovely text from one of those friends on Saturday evening to say that they'd just smashed theirs and she'd saved £710!! (She used a mixture of £1 and £2 coins and £5 notes). This particular friend is much better with money than most and I don't know how everyone else is getting on, but it served it's purpose in this instance as I wanted my friends to save up a decent amount so they could treat themselves and that text made my night!

That is a great story - well done Twiggy on helping friends to save.

  • Another 2 for me, which means I've hit my £250 target :j I've also been adding a few notes here and there and I have £500 in total. Which is great as I haven't missed the money through out the year and our special treat is a limousine ride as I will be 40 and my son 18.

Thank you gem-gem for running this thread and Twiggy what a great idea, will definitely be doing this for a few of my friends, any chance of sharing your poem please :D.
