Broadband at new home

Advice please;
I move into my new house next friday 18th december, I am currently stopping with family so have no broadband service to switch across.
I need to know what is the earliest point I can sign up to a new broadband deal and authorise the company to take over the broadband and phone at the property bearing in mind that I will not be the legal owner until Thursday 17th December.
Thanks

A lot depends on the state of the line at the new house.
If there's a line there (which there most likely will be) that's just turned off or not active at the exchange, the provider will arrange for this to go live, then set up the broadband. Took 17 days when I moved in where I am now, may be quicker but cooling off period is minimum 14 days...
It may just be easier just to a pick a provider and sign up, giving then your new address and the phone number if you know it and they'll take it from there.0 -
The answer is fairly obvious: 17/12. Should you try and jump the gun and completion were delayed, then the current occupier could find their service disconnected.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The property is empty. I didn't say I was concerned about anyone's service being disconnected. I asked from the point of view of can I authorise switchover if property isn't legally mine until 17/12.0 -
You can place the order, but should completion fail or be delayed, you will have contracted for a service in a property you can't yet occupy. 17/12 is only 4 days away.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
